Kelly Dayus-Cook – SLK

What was your first impressions of Ibiza when you first stepped onto the white isle?
“Crikey, an overwhelming sense of excitement for one! Being a clubber, when I first started going in the early 2000s, it was like you were part of a very unique community and one that was passionate about music, so when I touched down in Ibiza that first time, it was like reaching the motherland!”
What was the first club you ever went to in Ibiza and who was DJing?
“The first club I ever went to was Space and if memory serves me right, could be dodgy, it was Francois K at Home and Carl Cox… I think!”

Do you think door prices at 80euros are too expensive this summer?
“Yes I do! I think it’s a sad case of affairs that we try to bleed our punters dry. This industry is struggling enough without it costing more than some of their flights over to go for a night out. Don’t get me started on drink prices…”
Favourite bar and beach in Ibiza?
“Tend to stay over in Tarragona nowadays and there are fab local’s bars around but you can’t beat Mambos can you? Beach I’d go for the ones in Tarragona, cute and quiet!”

Do you think door prices at 80euros are too expensive this summer?
“Yes!  Once you factor in the travel costs, food, drinks and entrance fee, it might kill Ibiza off this summer. I remember millennium prices basically killed the club scene that night all over the UK.  Only a few people did well.  I remember lots of promoters cancelling their nights and dropping DJs from the line-ups because tickets sales were so poor. I am sure it won’t happen like that in Ibiza but clubs have to be careful.”

“Too many to mention…‘Spin Spin Sugar’, ‘Professional Widow’, ‘Cafe Del Mar’…”
Do you think door prices at 80euros are too expensive this summer?
“Yes. The hardest part for club owners and promoters is to get numbers through the door. If punters cannot afford the entry fees, especially in a recession, then less money will be made over the bar, which isn’t good for anyone.”

“Blue Marlin and Calla Bassa.”
IMS – business or pleasure?
“Business.”
What is the best club in Ibiza?
“Space Beach Club.”

“I’m going to say the USA at the moment it’s going off any day of the week over there.”

Mathew Stuart – Gung Ho!

What was your first impressions of Ibiza when you first stepped onto the white isle?
“Quite simply the Inbetweeners movie. I was 17 and it was my first lads holiday with 8 scousers. We stayed in San Antonio so I remember thinking I was in mecca. Women, cheap booze and us all wearing football tops!! It was 3 years later when I saw the real essence of Ibiza.”

“Liverpool.”
Great Ibiza story you would like to tell?
“A Scouse future record label owner got offered a threesome by two gorgeous Dutch girls. Instead of grabbing this opportunity with both hands, said lad bottles it, throws up and runs away. If time travel was an option things would be different!”

Miss Nine

Moguai

What was your first impressions of Ibiza when you first stepped onto the white isle?
“I travelled 16 years every year with friends and family always to Formentera. I knew during that time only the harbour of Ibiza, cause of taking the ferry to the small neighbour island. Btw my favourite ferry is the old ‘Joven Dolores”‘. At that time Ibiza was for me just another tourist island.  I changed my mind in the late 90s when I missed the last ferry. I had to stay there for 1 night and that night was one of the best I’ve ever had. Since then I love Ibiza, but I’m still a huge fan of Formentera.”
What was the first club you ever went to in Ibiza and who was DJing?

If Ibiza is the number one party destination in the world – where is No. 2?
“Las Vegas!”

MYNC

What was your first impressions of Ibiza when you first stepped onto the white isle?

What was the first club you ever went to in Ibiza and who was DJing?
“It was Space and Erick Morillo was playing.”
Where are you playing this Summer?

We are going to be doing a series of live radio shows from Ibiza over the summer featuring VERY special guests so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for more information.”
What 1 track are you looking forward to spinning there this Summer?
My new single Stadium, it’s been getting a great reactions. I played with Calvin Harris at Mansion during Miami Music Week and before the gig he signed the track to his label, so it will be coming out on Fly Eye on May 28th, it will be their first release of this year and the label is obviously known for releasing really strong club tracks so we’re very pleased.

“It has to be Carly Simon – ‘Why’ (Paris Garage Mix) it’s a great balearic track produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers of Chic.”
Do you think door prices at 80euros are too expensive this summer?
“Most definitely, it’s pricing normal people out of clubbing which is terrible. I think each club should have a guest list allocation of about 100 reduced price or free tickets which they give out on their social networks as competitions to hardcore fans that cant afford those prices, it would be a more fair way of ensuring that the people who love the music get to go to the clubs. At the end of the day that is what Ibiza is about, a place for music lovers to enjoy music.”
Favourite bar and beach in Ibiza?
“Blue Marlin and Cala Jondal, really relaxed place and beautiful scenery.”
IMS – business or pleasure?
“Business. Ben Turner who is one of the co-founders of IMS is a good friend of mine and I think IMS is one of the most important conferences in the dance music calendar. I’ve had the pleasure of being a speaker a few years ago and I always try to attend the summit each year.”
