Tensnake, those champions of all things nu-house, return to the fray with ‘True Romance’ a rolling, disco percussive outing with those Crystal Waters-y ‘Gypsy Woman’ keys that would sound as at home in 1992 as it does today. There’s a raw, rough edge to it, almost like colouring over the lines, happily perfect in its imperfection. Like a homage to the Basement Boys, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and Armand Van Helden. It’s underground with a crossover twist and it’ll set tongues wagging that’s for sure.
