No messing here – 41 tracks from Ben Sims in a crowded mix that lights the touch paper straight away, dazzling with its quickfire beats and raw funk. Mixed at a bpm that clocks in in the low 130s, Sims powers through tracks from Orlando and Joris Voorn, 2000 And One and the big strings of DJ 3000’s ‘Sacred Time’. While Jeff Mills is an obvious influence in his mixing that’s hardly a criticism, and as Sims turns for home things get rougher with DJ Rush and Kazu Kimura, the latter’s ‘Bottom Heavy’ certainly all that. A thrilling rush comes from much of this mix, a helter skelter ride from a DJ with the gloves off.
