Back to Mine with Armie from Clockpoets

Clockpoets is an emerging label from Madrid with a modus operandi that veers between all sorts of sounds, with the imprint just as likely to release oddball house as they are dancefloor focused techno bombs. It’s reasons like this that thus make the guys behind the label the perfect candidates for our Back 2 Mine series. Here, we caught up with one of the label’s main players, Sergio, who gave us a fascinating glimpse into the records he’d pack for the afterparty. Some real crackers in here!

Trent Reznor And Atticus Ross- Social Network (Album)

This one of my favourite albums of all time, and I couldn’t possibly pick one track from it. It still inspires me to create music all the time.

Larry Heard presents Mr.White – The Sun can’t Compare

During the years when house music was being invaded by the sounds of the most strident and in-your-face electro, in 2006, this fantastic vocal/acid bomb was released. Thanks a lot for this treasure!

The Pixies – Where is my mind?

I remember the first time I heard this song, during a time when I began to play with my first band. Those choir sounds along with the sharp guitars… just epic!

Radiohead – Creep

Another song that I discovered during my teenage days I that couldn’t stop listening to it at any time, It gave me what I needed back then. Now I listen to it and I love it even more.

Isolee –  Beau Mot Plage (Freeform Reform Edit)

It is a delight of a groove with those hypnotic notes of the wet synthn with reverb during all the song. I love this remix in particular; it is a journey of instrumental improvisation and musicality in perfect harmony.

42 Cows in Town – Coffeeshop People (Orlando Careca Coffe dub mix)

The breakbeat, together with the vocal-chords and silky melodies, is just fantastic. This is one of my favourite records ever.

Alex Font – Interstellar

This year I’ve been starting Alex Font a lot, and especially his vinyl only label, Acmé. This track is like a trip into the deep and hypnotic sound that I love. Really twisted and dope!

Stetsasonic – Talkin’ All That Jazz (Dim’s Respect For The Old School)

I love the original by Stetsasonic but Mr. Dimitri from Paris did an excellent job here. 10 minutes of Dimitri wisdom! A stunning remix…

Janis Joplin – Piece of my Heart

Moments and life situations that make you discover artists like Janis Joplin. She has amazing strength in her voice, and at the same time it’s so tender. A real masterpiece.

South Street Players – Keeps Changing Your Mind (Fresh Fruit Mix)

House in its purest form. A classic from the mid-late 90s. A really nice record and a song that everyone loves during the early house. Memories!
