Back to Mine with Cape

01. Ricardo Villalobos – 808 The Bass Queen

It is 9th record of “Lo fi Stereo” a German label. It is a release of 1999. For me this track is a hallmark because with it i discovered Ricardo Villalobos`s music. Its dubby atmosphere with its pads and melancholic leds made it an unforgettable track at that time.

02. Shed – Well Done My Son

It is a Record of Soloaction Records, another German label. I love Shed`s music in general but  this track generated something in me. It`s the way the nostalgic synths and powerful drums kit that make a perfect and characteristic German techno sound.

03. Laurent Garnier – The Man With The Red Face

It is a record of “F Communications”  a legendary label of Paris scene. It was founded by “Ludovic Navarre” the main member of “Saint Germain” Its a classic that defined the Paris sound. Of course it`s one of my favourite tracks.

04. Juan Atkins – Tango

Tango is a track of “Fast Forward E.p.” a record of “New Religion” a sub-label of Regal (part of Parlophone). This label releases electronic music that does not fit with Regals’ repertoire. It  combines the classic Detroit sound atmosphere with an innovative pitch modulation that ends up generating a weird and deep tracks by “the creator”.

05. Maurizio – M4,5

This track is the 4th release of Maurizio label. It`s another classics very influential of dub techno music. With the passing of time it became a representative sound in its style.

06. Chez Damier – Can You Feel It

it is record of 1992, release by “KMS Records” an emblematic label of Chicago house`s scene. It is the first track as Chez Damier.
Can You Feel It was a very important track for me because with it i started to search about Chicago`s house music.

07. Ricardo Villalobos – Easy Lee

Easy Lee is a track from “Alcachofa”, Ricardo`s second album. I will never forget the first time i heard it on the radio.  The sound was strange for me at that moment. Its struck me the percussion somehow  similar to water percussion. This type of music motivated me to produce.

08. Inner City – Big Fun

I heard this track when i was 8 years on the radio. After listening to it i began to listen to electronic music. Kevin Saunderson, one of the founder of techno music, was a member of this group. Later i investigate about his work and he was one of the most influential producer to me.

09. Minimal man – Chicken Store

It is a release of “Perlon” for me the most important label. This label always has an innovative view of music. Its music always becomes influential for the minimal and microhouse.
Combinig elememts of funkys and house that generate an minimalistic appearance, “Chicken Store” is an example of this.

Minimal Man - Chicken Store

10. Theorem vs. Swayzak – Day From Hell

Swayzak was one of the helpers to generate a bond with music. They triggered my curiosity to keep on investigating about his music. When i found this track, it caught my attention its composition. In my opinion it is a timeless track.

Cape-AlbumMy Own Jungle LP (Savor Music)

Argentinian producer Cape is to drop a dubby debut album on his Savor Music imprint this June.
Real name Fernando Cappelletti, the Rosario native’s early releases arrived on AirDrop Records, followed by appearances on Esperanza and Bavario Recordings before launching Savor Music alongside Jorge Savoretti in 2011. Since then the label has hosted the likes of Felipe Valenzuela, Martinez, Kastil, Marcman and Franco Cinelli whilst garnering a reputation as one of Argentina’s key purveyors of house and techno.
The album’s subterranean aesthetics are present from the beginning, with mesmerising tape echoes in ‘The Real’, deep pads in ‘Trb’ and the rhythmic energy of ‘Rainforest’. ‘Geibi’ then demonstrates intricate pops and glitches before ‘In Amour’ settles for a compelling groove. ‘Flavor’ is then a percussive number with hypnotizing appeal until ‘Faiser’ concludes the album with a punchy, dancefloor driven workout.
Cape ‘My Own Jungle’ LP out now on Savor Music.
