This classic track by Black Science Orchestra is about as funky as it gets, lifting a rather sweet loop from Wood, Brass & Steel’s “Funkanova” this track is sublime.

A what seems to be looked over track from ‘The Middle of Nowhere’ LP that came out in 1999, I still play this out now, people love it and always ask what it is, timeless.

Classic track, obviously made super famous by Eminem but it was a favourite track of mine (and lp) way before he used it, brilliant stuff.

Man I love this track, I stumbled upon it accidently in and old dusty record shop in Brighton after Ultra Magnetic MC’s sampled it for their track ‘Funky’ some guy was playing the Joe Cocker LP that this was on and on it came, I swiped it from him instantly and told nobody what it was (beat digging rule #1!) obviously everyone knows it now, it’s an amazingly funky track.

Brilliant tune, perfect after hours fodder.I used to mix the acapella of Fu-Gee-La over this all of the time.

 
 

Goldie ‘Inner City Life’ FFRR  

Again, a timeless really well written track/song, definitely one of the most pivotal tracks in the mid 90’s, it was a real game changer when it came out, I was devastated when I heard of the death of Diane Charlemagne in 2015 as her vocals just make this track.

 
 

Deep Blue ‘The Helicopter Tune’ Moving Shadow 

Love this track, so simple but so, so effective, this still goes down big time when it’s played out, chilled yet jumping.
