1. Jazztronik – “Samurai” – Chez Music
We have been a long time fan of Japanese artist, Jazztronik. Although we like most of his work, this track has always been something that stood out for us. We really love the piano work and also the cool FX and vocal samples. Has a really cool vibe and easy to listen to anytime of the day!
2. Ishq – “Vidya” – Electronic Soundscapes Records
We really love ethnic and tribal music. Ishq is one of our favorite artist for this. His music is downtempo/ambient style with a very hypnotic ethnic feeling. We really like the organic feel to this track and totally love listening to this while driving out of the city. Blends perfectly with the countryside view of Japan. Just beautiful!
3. Kyoto Jazz Massive – “Eclipse” – Compost Records
Kyoto Jazz Massive is another Japanese artist we really like and has been influential for us. This track is one of our favorites from them. We first heard this back in 2002 when they released their album “Spirit of the Sun” and we still listen to it to this day. A very nice balance between jazz and electronic sounds. The whole album is great but the mood this track has makes it our favorite.
4 Barrington Levy – “Too Experienced” – VP Records
One of Barrington Levy`s very popular songs. We really like this track because the bass and percussion is very smooth and comfortable listening to. The vocal on top of this is very soothing too, making this song a great chill out song.
5. Jazztronik – “Madrugada: – Especial Distribution
Another pick from Jazztronik!! Really nice Latin feeling to this track. The vocal is also amazing and really a great track to have running in the back while having a nice drink! Whenever we want to rest our ears or change the mood after a long day in the studio, this is something we would play often.
6 Chevelle Franklyn/ Lady G – “Thank You” (Extended Version) – XTerminator
Kyoko has been a long-time fan of Lady G and this collaboration of Chevelle Franklyn and Lady G is just super nice listening!
7. Minilogue – “Animals” – Cocoon Recordings
We have really admired the production quality from Minilogue for a long time. They have always been an inspiration to us. We really love the synth work done on this track. You can really tell they are having fun while producing this track. The live jam session feeling makes this track very unique!!
