Back To Mine with Henry Binns

1. Father and Fainter – John Tejada

Love the space on this, makes me feel like I should be sipping Mojitos on s roof top bar somewhere…

2. Feeling Alright – Joe Cocker

Joe’s voice gives me high elations.

3. Furry Sings the Blues – Joni Mitchell

Joni’s so evocative with the words on this one. No annoying choruses trying to grab your attention.

4. Inky Sea – Laura Groves

Laura almost cosmic jazz here with a folk shimmer.

5. Over the Ocean – Here We Go Magic

A modern day classic!

6. Remind Me – Patrice Rushen

Priceless 2 step. Takes me back.

7. Slipping into Darkness – Ramsey Lewis

Great late night track.

8. While I’m Alone – Maze

A personal favourite.

9. Heather – Billy Cobham

I have selected this tune so many times over the years, it’s having another resurgence for me . Eyes roll back voice trails off.

10. Baby I’m Scared of You – Womack & Womack

Balearic classic. Need another Mojito.

Henry’s latest project is Equador with singer Bo Bruce. Their new EP ‘Tribal War’ is out November 16 on Pegdoll Records.  Featuring three tracks, the hypnotic ‘Belly Up’, lead single ‘Treble Oh’ and the beautiful  ‘Prisoner,’ ‘Tribal War’ is a compelling listen – an immersive fusion of 90s downtempo ambience and minimal electronica held together with Bo’s distinctive vocals.

“It’s a little darker and tougher than the album” say the duo. “Slightly less esoteric and ethereal. A lot has changed for us and the album was a year or so in the making. We had less time to stare at our belly buttons for this EP and that can sometimes be a very good thing.”
