The Last Shadow Puppets ‘Aviation’

One of my favourite bands, the work they put into the visuals is awesome! Love the song! Love the video Directed by Saam Farahmand who also did Everything You’ve Come to Expect vid. check it out.

Chris Stapleton ‘Sometimes I Cry’

It’s hard not to get addicted to Chris Stapleton’s voice after this!

Clarence Carter ‘Patches’

This song was actually the story of the writer and the producer named Rick Hall. He started off the Muscle Shoals movement, produced some of the greatest soul artists and records of our time here’s the link of the ‘story of Muscle Shoals’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF4fLX61LQc

WoodKid ‘Iron’

One of the best Artist / Directors ever! Incredible song and visual to match! Woodkid is a fairly understated guy with th most AMAZING work, he’s both written and directed video for some of the biggest names in the World. From Taylor Swift to Lana Del Rey but It all started from his own creations.

Bill Withers Live performance at the BBC ‘Use Me’

Plus the facials on James Gadson one of the funkiest drummers ever is worth the watch alone!

Francis & The Lights ‘Friends’

I’m a massive Francis & The Lights fan but when this song & video dropped with Bon Iver & Kanye featuring ‘Backstreet boy-isk’ dance moves it gave me life. It’s directed by Jake Schreier and he killed it!

Gregory Porter – ‘It’s Probably Me’

Gregory Porter performing ‘It’s Probably Me’ Live at the Polar Music Prize Ceremony in 2017 will probably get you hooked on everything he does! Massive love for this cover and tribute!

Donny Hathaway ‘I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know’

One of my favourite songs ever written, unfortunately there was never an official video but here’s a rare bit of footage of Amy covering it.

Linus Young ‘City of Sin’

This is Iris, my mates band, they are absolutely awesome! great op to give them a shoutout as they’re way to talented! produced by one of the greatest cats around ‘Malay’. I had the pleasure of creating with him for 3 tracks on my debut! give them and him a search! you will dig EVERYTHING!

Glen Campbell ‘Wichita Lineman’

Again one of my favourite songs ever, lyrically stunning, listen out for the ‘I need you more than want you and I’ll want you for all time’ line! Glen Campbell was a don!

Al Green ‘People Get Ready’ Live with Linda Jones and Wanda Neal

As far as LIVE Soul music goes it can’t get any better than this, one of my favourite performances from the Reverend. Unbelievable vocals and the personality and charisma of no other!

Jay James ‘Heads Vs Hearts’ Film Trilogy

How could I not plug my own stuff right? I wrote & co-directed this for my first album, It’s features Booker T. Jones and some killer production from Malay. I shot it out in Minneapolis, it cost around £1500 to make including my flights, the label at the time were suspect to letting me create, after I did they loved it! The general concept around the Heads vs Hearts Trilogy was that the music tells the story. Unless it’s presented to them right nowadays a lot of people don’t listen to lyrics. I wrote the narrative of the film around the lyrics of 4 songs that were connected by real emotion and real events in my life, with no words, just visuals in the film. People would have to engage with those lyrics, story, tone and intent of my voice to really know what’s going on. In doing that, the hope was they could put themselves in the piece. Check it out & watch till the end!
