Gat Decor – Passion
This is one of my all time favourite tracks, which I love to play in my sets. This perfect simple groove, combined with the acid and the piano makes me feel ecstatic. Always a joy to hear it on a dancefloor. I would love to hear more gems like this out there.
Mr G. Transient:
Mr. G is one of my favourite ever producers and this tune with his great vocal and the groovy bass-line can be a floor killer in the right situation. I can remember Mr. G at Heideglühen (my second favourite spot here in Berlin) last year, WTF! I get goose bumbs every time I think about it.
Retro Grade – Moda
This crazy track simply can’t be missed. I call this a masterpiece of electronic music in all it’s unique facets.
Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
Yes. I’m a true Michael Jackson fan.
Westbam – Beatbox Rocker
I like it track mixed in between other straighter techno cuts, using it as a tool. A sweat weapon for the dance floor at the right moment.
808 State – In Yer Face (Bicep Remix)
Bicep became one of my favourite artists in 2018. I really love their album Glue and have enjoyed a lot their live sets. In this track I really like the string chords and the melodic synth-line that makes this remix an all-time gem.
Palms Trax – Sumo Acid Crew
Palm Trax is landed amongst my favourites in the last few years. I love the mixture of vintage synths and melodies. Also last weekend in Panorama Bar he did it again, a fantastic set like always and perfect for the vibes of this special dancefloor.
Ross From Friends – Romeo, Romeo
A masterpiece of groove and seductive melodies.
Claro Intelecto – Peace Of Mind
As a breakbeat lover, Claro Intelecto is gives me with his tunes a lot of inspiration. Loving his production for also chilling at home and listening in the background with some friends.
Luca Olivotto – Always There
One of my recent house releases with a 80/90s touch. For now, one of my own favourite productions.
Luca Olivotto – Keep On (LP) (Endless Music)
Endless Music label boss Luca Olivotto steps up with Keep On, his stunning debut album twhich is set to kick off 2019 in style. Italian Olivotto is a former resident of the esteemed Club Chalet in Berlin, and has made his label a fine outlet for independent and beautiful electronic sounds. Always making, playing and releasing music that is creative and original with real character, his productions and sets range from house to melodic techno but always with an air of experimentation.
The fantastic album features eleven melodically charged and ready to fire productions that flex their sonic muscles across a backdrop of deep techno, acid house and micro house. The whole thing was made on a Korg Prologue and a TR-08 and carries many usual traits of the Italian producer’s sound, from subtle nostalgia to a fresh contemporary snap.
It is the rumbling bass and spine tinglingly delicate synth work of deep roller ‘Satisfaction’ that opens things up with real meaning. The acid laced and expansive ‘Wheel of Fortune’ then brings broken drum rhythms and swiftly paced percussion. The excellent ‘Vienna’ is a dub techno epic, with vast rubber kicks and Detroit soul in the synths that really get you on your toes, while ‘Keep On’ picks up the pace with crisp drum programming and future facing styles.
Elsewhere, ‘Consciousness’ strips things back to a warm, dubbier and more heady vibe that is perfect for cosy dance floors, serene cut ‘Black Gloves’ is a warm deep techno masterpiece and ‘Club Horses’ is a moodier piece but with equally majestic melodies and broken drum rhythms and swiftly pacing percussion. The timeless techno trip ends on yet another side of Olivotto’s style with ‘Dazed,’ a full flavour track with rugged synths stepping up and down the scales and ending things on a determined and positive groove.
Whether you like things laid back and relaxed, or thumping from start to finish, this is an essential album that real journeys deep into many different, equally emotive styles.
