Back To Mine with M.R.E.U.X

You want cool after hours? Check this fucker out…

01. Bowie – V-2 Scheneder

T’s a timeless track for me, it remains always in my heart. Everytime I listen to it I transform myself in an alien.

02. Killing Joke – Pandemonium In Dub

Here I understood how I love the dub and the trip, ethereal ambience which make you dream, it’s really a great work of composition.

03. Depeche Mode – Never Let Me Down Again

I was a young guy when I listened to this Depeche mode’s jewel. The dark was at the base of the whole work, also the voice was sublime as a dessert. It was love at the first sight.

04. Simple Minds – New Gold Dreams

That was another historical track, music envelopes you and the psychedelia make you dance. The waves sonorities are immortal in my mind. Definitely a record which makes move your ass on the dancefloor.

05. Kraftwer – The Robot

That was the history of electronic music, no other words needed thanks to kraftwerk.

06. Doors – The End

Psychedelia reigned during the 70’s, the times when the alternative music made the difference. A trip without borders. We have to open our mind and our doors

07. Ozric Tentacles – Sploosh

Not everybody knows this band, but my mind reminds very well their music. The electronic funky was at the base of all their stories.

08. Bauhaus – Shes In The Parties

I was a young guy, and that track made me happy without thoughts and I felt free from eveything. Were the best times for me.

09. John Carpenter – Halloweens OST Themes

The king of the dark, he was a monument of emotions. He created suspence and moments of tension which are immortal in that great and epic track.

10. Cult – The Rain

Black dresses. earrings, and a fat bass. Were the rebels of that time. The transgression in the music. Oh how I liked the rain.

M.R.E.U.X – The Return (Blumoog Music)

Blumoog Music is a brand new label that lays out its vision in fine style with a first release from boss man M.R.E.U.X. The new outlet promises to be a platform where artists can express themselves without any musical limitations. M.R.E.U.X is Luke Mreux and is someone who runs his own studio in Italy. He has been involved in the industry since the 90s, has a background in punk/electronic movement and has worked in many clubs. As well as this he has played high profile gigs like Love Parade, runs a number of other labels and has a dark and psychedelic sound. “My inspiration comes from the electronic music of the 80’s and 90’s when producing still meant research, ideas and passion,” says the artist. Here he works with analog machines and vintage gear that lends his music a great sense of character. First up is ‘The Return,’ which is eight minutes of inventive techno nailed to a kinked groove. Gurgling machines, dark claps and trippy synths all stay busy throughout and keep you on your toes as the freaky atmosphere keeps you sucked in. The perfectly all consuming ‘Dark Culture’ is rich with corrugated bass and rooted drums. It is a groove full of shady corners and menacing moods and only the mostsubtle synths join the fray to add more layers of unsettling intrigue. These two devastating tracks mark out this label as one to watch right from the off.
