Back To Mine with Mista Savona

1. Mista Savona – Carnival feat Solis & Randy Valentine.

Because it’s a great party tune and introduces people to the ‘Havana Meets Kingston’ project in a way words never could.

2. Stylo G feat Sister Nancy – Badd.

Killer from a few years back. There’s hundreds of remixes of ‘Bam Bam’ but this one is my favourite and always mashes up the dancefloor.

3. Bomba Estéreo – Soy Yo.

Quirky dancefloor track from a great Columbian group. Video is great too.

4. Kabaka Pyramid – Kabaka VS Pyramid.

Nice concept showcasing two sides of a really versatile Jamaican artist. I first met Kabaka in Kingston in 2008. Nice to see his evolution as an artist.

5. El Dusty – Cumbia Anthem.

Killer mix of cumbia and bass. Check the drop! This was one of my favourite discoveries at Glastonbury earlier this year.

6. Mista Savona – ‘Candela’ feat. Solis & Randy Valentine.

We just did the first Havana Meets Kingston tour in Australia with Solis from Cuba on vocals, and Randy Valentine representing for Jamaica. The tour was incredible, and this song was a real crowd pleaser.

7. Chronixx – Likes.

Although Chronixx’s new album is too pop for my tastes, this track is a real standout. And the song seemed to drop the same time the shoulder-fling dance craze began in Jamaica. Great lyric & flow and the riddim nice.

8. Sizzla – I’m Living.

Slowing things down a bit. A song I produced for Sizzla back in 2013, and still one of my favourites. The video just clocked over 4 million views.

9. Chancha Via Circuito – Jardines feat. Lido Pimienta.

One of my favourites tracks from a few years back, moody & beautiful and the production is amazing. Argentinian group here joined by a Mexican singer.

10. Manuel Galban & Ry Cooder – La Luna En Tu Mirada.

Ry Cooder’s ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Here is a lesser know album he also recorded at Egrem in Havana, with an incredible Cuban guitarist Manuel Galban. The atmosphere & mood of this is sublime. Nice way to wind things down.
