I love the drop in this tune, you have no idea what to expect -and the triplet rhythm in the bass line sounds like my favourite ‘mini brute’ synth. Some really tribal BVs that come in later on are on point!
George Fitzgerald – Call It Love
The small kick and massive sine bass line compliments the mellow male vocal perfectly -I love a good male vocal!
Disclosure – You and Me (Flume Remix)
I remember when I heard this for the first time, I was like woah, the groove in the drop is insane and Eliza’s vocal gives the whole track an ice cold fresh vibe.
Lauren Hill- Doo Wop (That Thing)
The hook/chorus in this song is killer, super cool and catchy without being a cheese fest!
Lion Babe – Treat Me Like Fire
I love the vibe of the white noise effect and the finger clicks. Her super chilled vocal performance has so much swag -reminds me of a casual Beyoncé.
Hayden James – Something About You
This song makes me dance! Would love to hear it on a big fat system, I love the simplicity of it.
Cerrone feat. Manu Dibango & Todd Edwards – Funk Makossa
Pure tribal rhythms and vocals I’m all over it!! Love the detuned instrumental riffs. The breakdown at 3.04 call and response between drums and vocals is dreamy.

Neat percussive riffs in this plus a solid acoustic bass line -I love the feel and whole vibe of this tune -also, I can’t work out whether he’s saying the name of the girl Oino, I don’t know -but I like it!
Rachel K Collier – Ships (Remixes) (Kobalt)
This September sees Rachel K Collier release ‘Ships (Remixes)’ featuring Paul W, S-CHU and Spencer Brown who provide three fresh cuts of Rachel’s recently released ‘Ships’. Having impressed earlier this month with her Indian summer single ‘Ships’, the captivating Welsh vocalist is back, this time with three new remixes. S.Chu aka Simon Chue is first in line to offer his flip. With releases on Defected, collaborations with Wookie and support from Annie Mac under his belt, the UK producer sets the stage: offering a soulfully built house rework that combines garage inspired bass lines with stabbing jazz chords.
US producer and Anjuna affiliate Spencer Brown is next to step up, and transforms ‘Ships’ into a friendly nocturnal number, tinged with emotionally charged chord progressions and a sparking take on Collier’s vocals.
