My dad brought me up on everything good from this era. This one has got everything I love – energy and soul. Those killer diva vocals at the end give me goose bumps. This would get people in the mood for whatever.

 

Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy

One of my all time favourites – love every lyric. Shara’s delivery, beautiful journey of music, my soul food, and there’s something really sexy about it. Gets you in a good space.

 

Gwen McCrae – All This Love That I’m Giving

Singing along, getting all sassy, drinks are on, throwing the diva moves about. One for the ladies.

 

Womack & Womack – Teardrops

Timeless. It feels effortless. The girls will dance and the guys will dig.

 

Armand Van Helden – Eluv8 ft. Big Brooklyn Red

Years on, the man still brings it like no other. Does just what it says, lifts you up, big soulful vocal, killer hooks, those pianos. Love it!

 

Reboot – Enjoy music (Riva Starr remix)

This came out at a time when I was touring like mad with Defected and playing the best parties around the world. Dropping this, the energy was crazy. Still goes off.

 

Liquid – Sweet Harmony

They don’t make them like this any more. Pure raving bliss, hands in the air, not going home yet.

 

True Faith – Take Me Away

I covered this last year with DJ SKT. I took a lot of inspiration from this record. We might have to get the decks out and take it back to a real moment in time with this one.

 

Frankie Knuckles – Tears

What a beauty. A bit of house gold left to us and forever in our hearts. Emotional one.

 

Kings of Tomorrow – Can’t Stop ft. Rae

Well as it is my house and this is a feel good classic tune, rude not to. It was my first release on Defected and the start of a journey. I think by this point we’re falling into a nice hazy wind-down from a great night.
