Back To Mine with Robin Fett

Reflekt Feat. Delline Bass – Need To Feel Loved

Even though I found it really hard to pick 10 records that I listen to at home, this classic came straight to mind. I can remember hearing it for the first time when I was driving along with my dad in the car, I think I was 13 years old. Windows down, sunshine, and I fell in love with this record immediately.

Toro Y Moi “Rose Quartz”

The hypnotizing strings and synths in the intro get to me everytime. I love how the records build up, and has this fuzzy vibe to the track. I should make this one my alarm, I would never wake up moody again.

BareSkin – I Was Born To A Woman From Space

I love the raw straightforward drums, with the dreamy synths. This combined with the spacious vocal makes it a track that is really nice to listen to, but is also so nice to play out loud (especially at an after with the sunrise at the horizon).

eggy Gou – Day Without Yesterday

Peggy Gou can do no wrong with me! Oldschool house vibes, a detuned string in the break, delayed piano, and groove baseline. Whatever you do, play this track while doing it, and it will be 10 times more fun.

D*Note – Shed My Skin

I think i was 11 years old when this classic was released. The videoclip is as great as I remember, just a guy dancing on the beach like nobody is watching.

Mall Grab – Feel Good House (EAcapella)

What’s there to say. Lofi fuzzy goodness, with great synths. Definitely got this one in multiple playlists that I often listen to at home.

Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND

A recent edit of Mall Grab’s track by Elliot Adamson, that immediately makes me happy and makes me want to dance. It does the trick as well listening at home as it does on the dance floor!

Arkityp – Kool 94.6

Arkityp is a combo of Archie Hamilton and Rossko, two artists whose music I really love. This track often finds its way into my sets, with the great snare build and awesome space in which all the elements play. Definitely a club banger that I also like to listen to at home. As I do with most of Arkityp’s tracks!

Sian ‎ – Sei (Steve Bug Remix)

I remember walking into a record store in Amsterdam and hearing this remix by Steve Bug. I rushed to the counter because I wanted to know who made this track, and I left the store with the Poker Flat CD where this was on. I still think it is a great track, and the CD is still an all time favorite!

Ben Westbeech – Hang Around

Ben Westbeech (aka Breach) is from the UK, but lives in Amsterdam for a while now. I have been following him since he is performing as Ben Westbeech, and think he does amazing things under his alias as ‘Breach’. Unfortunately I have never met him, but I hope to run into him one day so I can tell him how much I like his music. ‘Hang Around’ is such a nice laid-back song, perfect for Sunday chilling.

Robin Fett – Studio Talk / Alias featuring Timothy

Amsterdam’s Robin Fett continues to make big moves with a new single on Loot Recordings featuring remixes from Sascha Dive and Markus Mehta.
Playing some of his home city’s best clubs, Fett has developed his own style that’s caught the attention of names like Joris Voorn, Danny Tenaglia and others. For his third release on Loot Recordings, he delivers two tracks of quality house music with a gritty techno edge and partners with countryman Timothy on one of the tracks.
The first cut ‘Studio Talk’ emanates pure energy with crisp, punchy drums all wrapped around a thick, warm bass line. The tough groove chugs along, giving it necessary boom for the clubs, and is layered with trippy conversation and moments of smashing glass sounds that lends the right amount of chaos to make it stand out.
Sascha Dive, one of Germany’s purveyors of all things deep, also returns to the label for a mesmerising eight minutes of deeper house grooves. His interpretation is structured with stuttering, warm key hits and rising synths where repetition is the trick that creates the magic.
Teaming up with Timothy, Fett’s ‘Alias’ is a stripped back affair of techier house with a pounding rhythm and energetic arrangement of builds and breaks. On remix duty is Munich’s maestro Markus Mehta, who turns in a choppy, modular version that’s an electronic soul symphony. Loaded with playful stabs and a lock tight arrangement of hats and drums, this one is for the robots on the dance floor.
