Back To Mine with The Stoosie

Francesco Tristano & Carl Craig – The Melody

It begins with an incredible collaboration between the two fantastic artists. Elegant chords and magnificent rhythms. I love idea of using orchestra with modern technology, resulting in a classic but futuristic composition at the same time.

The Stoosie – Zulu EP (Makehood)

Emerging Los Angeles imprint Makehood delivers its second offering this October with the debut release from Ukrainian artist ‘The Stoosie’, featuring three deftly programmed productions available both digitally and via a limited 100 copy run on wax.
Hailing from Odessa, Ukraine, music devotee the Stoosie has spent the better part of the past decade cultivating and refining a deep love and passion for electronic music. After producing, writing and mixing music for fellow artists, the self-taught musician and producer is set to deliver his debut EP and unveil years of behind the scenes work through three ineffable productions..
Title track ‘Zulu’ opens the EP in commanding fashion as the first insight into the producer’s sound reveals a balancing act of precise organic percussion patterns, spacious sound design and scintillating synth work that demands full body immersion. Next, ‘Khalifa’ centers itself around an ethereal female vocal, with the mysterious voice ebbing and flowing in amongst muscular, thundering kicks and crescendoing blips and effects.
The EP is closed out by ‘Maartkare’, with its minimal arrangement and stripped back make up revealing an effort that places its low slung groove and driving bassline fully forward in the mix. Reinforced by subtle nuances throughout, the production rounds out the second package from the forward thinking US imprint and signals the emergence of an artist full of talent and studio intellect.
