Back To Mine with Thomas Roland

 

A Frenchman who has spent much of his formative years in London, it’s safe to say that Thomas Roland is a man who’s spent a considerable amount of time on some of the world’s foremost dancefloors. A DJ of serious repute, he helps run the recently-established Highpath imprint, which to date has featured music from a host of established and shrewdly chosen up-and-coming names. A regular at the Zoo Project in Ibiza (often alongside his label mate and good friend Stephane Ghenacia), Roland is a versatile DJ with a penchant for classy house, the likes of which his label is also starting to become known for. A prime candidate for the Back 2 Mine series, here are his picks…

 

1 The Logic Box – Liquid [AO18]

One of the most special tracks in my collection.. .. a timeless deep house gem! made by Chris Carrier & Guillaume La Tortue on carrier’s imprint Adult only back in 2002

I played this one so many time, sexy dub, I love how this tune crystalize the time on the dance floor, always special.

 

3 – I-Cube – Mingus In My Pocket

Out in 97 on versatile records, killer groovy sample bass and deep hypnotic synth…..classic

 

4 – TOMSKA Deepcore 98′

Raw deep house music doesn’t get much better than this! Essential. From the French Dj & Producer Tomska

 

5 – Hiem – Shes The One (Circles In Time Mathew Jonson Remix)

This one is very special, last time I played it was in an epic after forest party in London ‘creatures’ what a moment… it gives me goosebumps every time.

 

6 ARK & DOLIBOX – DEEP AT ALL – KARAT40

House music at its best. amazing 10 min journey from Ark and Dolibox. This masterpiece is far enough quality stuff that you can use it also for a home listening…. real timeless music on Karat.

 

7 – Rick Wade – Providing Ground

Rick wade is pure genius, one of my fav track from him a real piece of deephouse music, deep as hell and pure… lets dance.

 

8 – 90 Degrees (DJ Q Mix)

This serious late night masterpiece mix from DJ Q never leave my bag… heavy dubby tech-house… still in the classics 20 years later, total outer space banger

 

9 –  Dave Barker & Brett Johnson – Temptation And Lies

Proper deep house from back in 2002. this fantastic tune, quirky, cool and Super smooth never fails to get the vibe on the dancefloor.

 

10 Navid Izadi – Feelin’ Purple

Tribute tune… 808 beats with a prince inspiration from Navid Izadi gone too soon…. Rest In Peace.
