Back To Mine with Trunks

Trunks has had an incredible start to the year, garnering a huge new online following and taking his enthusiastic passion for EDM to even more audiences all over the US. With such a unique stage show, and amazing new productions on their way, we wanted to know what songs have inspired Trunks the most on his musical journey!

1. Forgot About Dre – Dr.Dre feat Eminem

This was one of the first Rap songs that I tried to learn every word to. Eminem is still my favorite rapper of all time and his verse on this song won me over.

2. SouthernPlayalisticadillacmuzik – OutKast

Growing up in Atlanta, the group Outkast were kings! You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing them. This song will always remind me of riding around the dirty south in my first car.

3. Feel Good Inc – Gorillaz

I heard this song whilst eating breakfast before school. I saw the video on MTV back when they played videos, and it was the first song from a genre besides Rap that I noticed myself singing on the bus in my head.

4. One More Time – Daft Punk

My first time hearing electronic music, I was at a party and the DJ played it. Everyone that I knew stopped dancing, but it’s only because we didn’t grow up around it. I loved the song but didn’t really tell many people that at the time!

5. The Next Episode – Dr.Dre FT Snoop Dogg

One of the greatest beats of all time in my opinion. When Snoop comes in with “La Di Da Di Da” I can’t help but start dancing! You can play the intro for 2 seconds and I always start smiling.

6. Bangarang – Skrillex

My first real taste of Dubstep, and hearing all of those crazy sounds that go with it. After ‘Bangarang’ I started to research other artists that made similar music.

7. Calling – Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso

I heard this song during my first time in Vegas and it will always take me back to the pool party at Wet Republic. It’s a really positive song that puts you in such a good mood!

Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso - Calling (Lose My Mind) ft. Ryan Tedder

8. Dope Boyz – TI

When this song came out, I thought I was so cool every time I listened to it. T.I. really painted a picture of what was going on around me in Atlanta. Dope Boyz will always be a song I can say line for line.

9. Tell Me – RL Grime & What So Not

The way it comes in makes my ears stick up. I’ve also always loved horns; I played the trumpet in high school and when this beat drops with the horns coming in, I always lose my mind.

RL Grime & What So Not - Tell Me

10. Mara – Carnage (Breaux & Carnage Festival Trap Remix)

Honestly, it’s just a really hard trap song to me! No particular reason, but every time that I play this song I start acting crazy no matter where I am.
