Back to MIne with Yoni Yarchi & Tal Tager

Gonna start this Back To Mine piece from Slow To Fast. We will begin with an all time favorite, no other than:

1. Enigma – Return To Innocence

Tal: “I would never forget when my dear parents introduce me to this musical genius at 2nd grade. I just couldn’t get enough. I’ve been an enigma collector since the first song. They are all incredible”. Yoni and myself are both big fans and can not count the many nights/rides back from the club we’ve shared with a difference Enigma CD jamming in the Stereo.

2. Sade – Pearls

Sad Sad song but hey who doesn’t have chills from this voice of an angel. This  song is talking about a “woman in Somalia”, describes her emotions and the unfortunate lifestyle from her eyes. Touching and inspiring. The remix by Timo Jhans is a piece of art. Tal heard it for the first time at “Get Lost” in miami, played by Bherouz. That moment was simply magical he said”.

3. Santana – Black Magic Woman

Classic, groovy with the guitar master himself Carlos Santana. Tal: As a percussionist I’ve played the long percussive solo times and times again. Makes you wanna catch a plain and fly to sunny Cuba or just to go around South America, to the little villages in Colombia or what not to enjoy some streets bands. Definitely put a smile on our faces each time we’ve jammed this awesome tune.

4. 2pac – Keep Ya Head Up

This sensitive gangster don’t need no introductions. Soul, rhythm, emotions and struggle. You can say many things about the guy but he knew how to preach and get to people, always from the heart and with a super cool beat.

Before we will move to the electronic genres we have:

5.  Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard “Now We Are Free”

The most invisible trio ever. Epic movie (Gladiator) the best movies composer and the oriental queen Lisa Gerrard. This piece is just simply powerful.

We’ll start the Electronic picks with an all time favorite:

6. Nat Monday – Waiting (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix).

First time I heard, what considered pretty heavy and intelligent for a 14 years old kid. Yon introduced me to Creamer and K when he let me borrow his Paul Oakenfold  – Ibiza x2. It was a ritual to smoke a hookah and get lost to the dark sounds.

7. Way Out West – Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)

By far the best album of Tiesto! What a journey. From beginning till end = genius. Well produced, compiled and mixed. Tal: My parents bought me the In Search Of Sunrise 3 CD while on vacation in The Dead Sea. Won’t forget how skeptical I was about it when I realized it wasn’t that hard melodic trance Tiesto is known for. That opened our musical horizon to a whole new Level. That was THE YEAR for the duo Josh Gabriel & Dave Dresden as they broke through from here and on.

8. Giorgio Moroder – Chase

Here is a good, considered “weird” 80’s/Disco Sound classic. Chase is an electronic instrumental by Giorgio Moroder from the Academy Award-winning soundtrack and album Midnight Express (1978), then extended and released as maxi single and made the Hot 100 singles charts in January of 1979, charting as high as #33. Although originally branded as disco, the song is considered to be, along with Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, a pioneer of the hi-NRG genre that came to prominence in the early 1980’s.

9. SIS – Morab

Love playing this track. SIS became one of our favorite producer and live act. Been collecting his tunes since he broke through to the scene. Each piece is long but truly unique and original. The crowd reaction to the ethnic middle Eastren vibe is simply vibrant.

10. Lost Desert Feat. Junior – Absent without Thought

To close it up here is one of those magical tunes you just can’t get enough of. This amazing label owned by Lee Burridge & Matthew Dekay, both no strangers for the scene is beyond amazing. All Day I Dream has taken the emotive house to the next level with nothing but quality on each release. This is an unreleased piece by up and coming producer Lost Desert Feat vocalist Junior – Absent without Thought.

yoni-tal2-coverYoni Yarchi & Tal Tager – Tel Aviv Morning (Loot Recordings)

After a noteworthy release from TRU. back in the summer, Loot Recordings is back with a tasteful two track package from another studio duo, Yoni Yarchi & Tal Tager. The talented Israeli pair were neighbours as far back in 2011, then met properly in a Capoeira class and cemented their musical relationship from then on. Their breakthrough release came with 2010’s mesmeric ‘Tfila’ which paired a famous Hebrew prayer with live drums by Tal and was released on Lifted to great acclaim. Since then they have released on Playperview, Tenampa and more, and can count on Sasha and Stacey Pullen amongst fans of their emotive, club filling sounds. The fantastic ‘Tel Aviv Morning’ is a smooth and soothing house roller filled with all the promise and freshness of a new dawn in spring. Spine tingling synth lines and big, bold chords bring real majesty and grace to the track, and it’s the sort of scintillating thing that will light up any terrace or heartfelt dance floor. On the flip, ‘The Promise’ is another masterfully laid-back and seductive house affair that is rippled with lush arpeggios and warm chords. It is expansive and truly musical,
and has the grand sense of scale that has you craning your neck up to the skies. This is subtle and unhurried, yet impactful dance music that has real heart and
emotion, combined with an essential sense of groove and heavenly euphoria.
