New Sector Movement -The Sun (Dwele’s Motor City Mix)
You literally feel the warmth coming from this track. Such an underrated project.
Dexter Wansel – I’ll Never Forget (My Favorite Disco)
The Jones Girls on the vocal duties, it just grooves and glides with sophistication. One of my faves from my fave producer.
Agent K – Hands
I have to say of all the album projects I had the privilege to work on, one from the enormously talented brother Kaidi Tatham’s debut “Feed The Cat” is still top of my list. Memories of amazing sessions with Joy Jones and Vanessa Freeman comes to the fore. This track is undeniable.
Marvin Gaye – Come With Me
My “I Want You” vinyl had to be replaced quite a few times being worn from daily play. Leon Ware’s production is a masterpiece.
Bobbi Humphrey – My Little Girl
The funky soulfulness of this groove typifies the excellence of The Mizell Brothers productions.
Carole King – It’s Too Late
Been reacquainting myself with the “Tapestry” album as of late and the phenomenal song writing on it tells you why it’s an all time classic.
Prince – If I Was Your Girlfriend
I could of chosen numerous tracks from my fave Prince album “Sign Of The Times”, so I just closed my eyes picked one randomly.
Minnie Ripperton – Completeness
From the time Minnie enters with that distinctive angelic high note, I was in. The whole “Come To My Garden” album is pure Charles Stepney excellence.
Arnold Blair – Trying To Get Next You
Fave rare groove track. My hands would of be up in the air while I sway to this in a ram house party.
Vicki Anderson – You’re Welcome Stop On By
I just love this version from the former James Brown affiliated vocalist with her life partner the late legendary Bobby Byrd adding to the vocal support.
