Back To Mine with Enamour

Washington DC based artist Enamour walks the line between deep introspection and pure dancefloor energy on a superb new single for Kindisch. Specializing in deep, melodic house and techno, Enamour has always found himself at the intersection of many genres, continually making fans out of esteemed curators like Pete Tong and Danny Howard as well as leaders like Sasha, Guy J, Mark Knight and Oliver Koletzki. He has been featured as an artist-to-watch by Mixmag and DJ Mag while releasing music on labels such as Anjunadeep, Desert Hearts, whatiplay, and Future Classic, among many others. And here he delivers a mouth watering Back To Mine ten…

“Here’s a selection of my all time favorite at-home songs, with a focus towards more low-key, comedown music. Every song is taken from an album that would place somewhere in my all-time top 20, most falling in the top 10. Recommended listening in this order.”

Maribou State – Natural Fools
This one has such a catchy riff that’s melancholic but hopeful at the same time. I actually heard them drop it live in a DJ set once and it was a really special and surprising moment since I had always thought of it as an ‘at-home’ track.

Washed Out – Soft
Washed Out is great at setting a mood and conveying nostalgia and wistfulness perfectly in musical form. I especially like the intimacy of this one.

Jamie XX ft. Romy – Loud Places
This album really inspired me to get more into sampling in my own productions. This song in particular is one of the few songs that’s brought me to tears; I heard it performed live at an xx show.

Beach House – Walk In the Park
I loved Beach House in my mid to late teens and it really set the tone for my life at the time. We’re from the same hometown and I got to watch them blow up into this huge act, which was pretty cool. It’s hard to just pick one track from them but I can distinctly remember belting out the chorus from this one in my car on many occasions.
Beach House - Walk in the Park

Bibio – Sycamore Silhouetting
I’ve been a fan of Bibio for a really long time and think he’s one of the most versatile artists out there. Really hard to pick just one track from him, especially since almost every track on this album (Silver Wilkinson) is fantastic. I’ve had a lot of introspective moments with this one though.
Bibio - Sycamore Silhouetting

Jimi Hendrix – Little Wing
I went through a big classic rock phase in my early teens so I’d be remiss to not include at least one song from that era. This whole album is a classic but I really love this song in particular, especially some of the live versions out there.

Flying Lotus – Galaxy in Janaki
Flying Lotus was one of the first electronic artists I discovered and his album Cosmogramma especially influenced my earliest interest in experimental music and production. This track in particular packs so much emotion, complexity, and energy into just two and half minutes, it’s incredible.

Mount Kimbie – Ruby
This one is my idea of the perfect after, after-hours track. When you basically want to go to sleep but can’t quite stop grooving--it’s like a post-dubstep meets lullaby vibe.
Mount Kimbie - Ruby

Andrew Bayer – Let’s Hear That B Section Again!
When I think about the healing power of music, my mind goes directly to this track. It sounds like you’re living an entire lifetime and being reborn into a new dimension in just four minutes.
Andrew Bayer - Let's Hear That B Section Again!

Warmth – Youth
I had to include an ambient piece since it has played such a big role in my life the past few years while traveling. This song really demonstrates Warmth’s incredible ability to tell stories with slowly developing, subtle melodic ideas. I’ve spent so much time listening to this album while half-asleep on airplanes that it’s essentially the soundtrack to my dreams.
