Back To Mine with Middle Sky Boom

Leon Thomas – Song For My Father

This song will forever be in any list of mine. It’s a Symbol for my relationship with my dad and the inspiration I get from him on a daily basis.

Four Tet – Unspoken

One that resembles beauty and confusion. The lack of clarity towards what reality might contain.   A naive and pure piece by Four Tet, one of my favourites.

Perfect Day – Lou Reed feat Luciano Pavarotti

This specific performance gives me a proper shake. The fact that this combined power has , hurts while listening. The fact that it existed gives endless hope.

Mouse On Mars – Actionist Respoke

One of the first broken electronics I was introduced to. I have a place for it.

Freaky Chakra – Glimmer Of Dope Theme 3

A reminder for an approach and for a place in time

Bal5000 – Kids

A steady vibe with fuzzy bass always works for me. This one is clean and correct.

Glass Candy – Digital Versicolor

“Italians do it better” have always caught my ear, aseptically with the Glass Candy project. Big fan

Vasco Rossi – Una Splendida Giornata (Nassau Balearic Edit)

A beautiful edit by Nassau. I’ll take it with me everywhere.

Megaphonim – Mega Mega

This project might all be secrets, But I promise it’s very close to my heart.

Moisees – Midnight Raider (Middle Sky Boom Remix) // Duro

A remix I made for Moisees with vocals recorded at home with my laptop mic by Livia heins.

Middle Sky Boom – Souvenirs (Night Noise Music)

Night Noise prides itself on giving a platform to new artists with fascinating and left of center sounds, and Middle Sky Boom is exactly that. Tel Aviv based Josef Laimon is an associate of the likes of Eskimo Records and Days of Being Wild and also runs the Unterman label with his sister. He regularly plays the likes of Breakfast Club and offers his superb twisted take on synth and disco. The opener ‘Souvenirs’ is a fantastic brew of jumbled drums and tripped out synths. They step up through the scale and will send hands skyward as freaky vocals and layers of filter add kaleidoscopic colour to the grooves. The track is supported by a superb music video, directed by the Laimon Brothers. On the flip, ‘Late Night Sunday’ is another perfectly paranoid brew of weird vocal loops and chugging drums. It’s swirling, unhinged and designed to flip out the floor and is expertly crafted to have a musical depth and breadth that places you right in the middle of the unfolding action.
