After hours grooving…
01. Kraftwerk – Tour De France
I was 9 when i first heard this track, it was on a vinyl compilation from my older sister she had with all the “hot tunes” from that year, and i would put this on and listen and dance to it every day for ages…! I still do it by the way… 🙂
02. Chaka Khan – I Feel For You (12 Inch)
First 12” i bought with my own saved pocket money! I was 10, and now it all makes sense.
03. Michael Jackson – Human Nature (Live)
MJ is a obvious choice in here, and i could have gone to one of the many discoish gem’s he did in the late 70’s, but i chosen Human Nature because it’s probably my favorite song from him, despite one of the few he didn’t actually wrote, and the live version, cos in here you can witness how much of a stage beast this human was. Epic vocal skills.
04. Beastie Boys – Girls
Awwwwh, how fun it was to be a teenager and have Beastie Boys providing the soundtrack… those were the days, school, biking and skateboarding all day… and yes Girls.
05. Public Enemy – Don’t Believe The Hype
Whenever anyone asks me for any reason “so, what’s your favorite band all-time?” my reply is and will always be Public Enemy. Not only the music is effin awesome in pretty much all their tracks (Bomb Squad was the bomb, literally), but lyrical content and message was always a plus with them. I grew up mentally and spiritually with P.E.
Watch this documentary if you never did, please.
06. Happy Mondays – Hallelujah
Shaun Rider and his gang were always amongst my late 80’s, early 90’s soundtracks. Tony Wilson, and the story of Factory were always a huge inspiration to me.
07. Ron Trent – Altered States
And then electronic dance music in general hit me like a train to never come back. There’s simply too many tracks to single out for the 90’s, but Ron Trent has to be one of them and his Altered States.
08. Glenn Underground – Waterhodes
Always go back to Glenn Underground from time to time, he has so many good tracks, all very soulful and unique.
09. Miguel Migs – Petalpushing
Miguel Migs is my favorite house producer. There’s not much to say, just pure class. Always.
10. Boards Of Canada – Roygbiv
My favorite song from BOC, simple, beautiful and timeless.
