Jazzanova feat. Phonte – Look What You’re Doin’ To Me

I had a residency DJing at a outdoor bar/lounge a few years ago and I would always drop this track. I love Phonte’s voice and Jazzanova’s production is next level. They bring that sexy summer evening feel. I’m a huge fan of The Neptunes and I hear some of their influence here.

Black Magic – Freedom (Make It Funky)

Strictly Rhythm put out some epic releases back in the day. The vocals on this track just make it. They’re so funky and I love that gospel influence in her style. It’s one of my favorite songs to mix because it brings me back to that era of house music I love so much.

Tame Impala – It Might Be Time

I’ve been digging the synths and drums on this for quite some time now. This song just brings a good vibe anywhere you are. Kevin Parker has figured out a pretty unique sound.

Sun Ra – Door Of The Cosmos

Space is the Place had such a big influence on me and my early respect for jazz. Sun Ra is out there and always pushes the envelope with his sound, his track names, and themes. It’s inspiring.

Thundercat – Them Changes

I love the groove on this. The arrangement is on point, as are the vocals. I’m definitely relating to the lyrics right now too.

Earth, Wind & Fire – Can’t Hide Love

I cut my teeth on all of their music and have been digging into a lot of that early inspiration I had growing up. This song is a constant in my rotation. EWF always pulls at the heart strings, especially when you’re driving around, just feeling the music.

Antonio Adolfo – Aonde Voce Vai

Very cool song I recently discovered. I love the guitar work, vocal melody, and the groove. I’ve been digging into more and more Brazilian music recently. Gives me those summer vibes.

Lil Durk – Still Trappin’ (feat. King Von)

I love trap and King Von had a special energy. This song really captures that uniqueness thanks to the synergy Lil Durk and King Von. The beat hits.

Amber Mark – Conexão

I’m a huge fan of Amber Mark. Her voice is epic and she’s an extremely talented producer. I love the piano playing on this song and how it elevates the overall vibe. It’s got that Brazilian influence with an R&B twist. The lyrics, vibe, and melody are all so good.

Childish Gambino – 12.38

I dig this whole record. So much respect for CG. He truly embodies what it means to be an artist. As much as I love the record, this track is the one that stands out to me most.
