Karol XVII & MB Valence – Back to Mine

It is extremely difficult to choose the best songs of all time because in the case of the latest productions, we do not know at the moment if our feelings will be exactly the same after some time. That is why we have decided to base mainly on tracks that are already well-established on the music market and arrange them according to the order of their release dates, from the oldest to the newest. Their status will never be changed then. As for the latest of the selceted tracks, you should ask us again in a while…

Frankie Knuckles – Your Love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOLE1YE_oFQ 1987
Our chart starts with a track that originated everything music means to us and our lives. It was Frankie Knuckles that was our first inspiration when we saw his live performance for the first time. The precision and selection of songs was top class then. So it cannot be otherwise than Frankie’s most important track in the history of house music takes first place.

Orbital – Belfast
Orbital begins a series of the golden age of English club music. Everything here is amazing – the way the tune is built as well as the atmosphere it introduces. The track has been with us for years and has not aged at all. A journey without it is incomplete!

Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy
Massive Attack is another great collective from the UK. In fact, we’ve been debating for quite some time whether to nominate Teardrop along with the incredible Mezzanine album, but our picks are supposed to be tracks, not albums, so we have opted for the equally brilliant Unfinished Sympathy. The music video for this song should surely be remembered by everyone from the 90s era and it is hard to imagine this video without the MTV logo. Those were the times when MTV did not necessarily show the decline of culture.

Underworld – Born Slippy
Imagine a club which is dark inside and full of smoke and the rhythm, apart from the music playing, is determined by strobe lights pulsating up to 140bpm. Suddenly, it all stops and there appear soothing chords that make you shiver. There can only be one such a gem by another representative of the golden age of clubbing from England – Underworld. Sometimes we wonder how 140bpm did not use to be a problem in the clubs back in 1995!

Daft Punk – Revolution 909
And then the French enter with their cult work Revolution 909. The track did not have too many musical layers, but still brought incredible joy by means of its rhythm and energy. Such sentimental times of good old Daft Punk. At the same time, we could probably place the funky Around The World here, but the decision is made – Revolution 909

The Source feat. Candy Station – You Got The Love (Now Voyager Mix)
The turbulent times connected with the production of this track finally get a generous interpretation thanks to the mix called Now Voyager Mix. No matter which version you have heard after 1997, this one remains invincible. Back in the day, using this song seemed to be the only perfect ending of a party.

Armand Van Helden – Flowerz
Those were the days, amazing days with house music in the clubs and this great track by Armand Van Helden. We have a personal fondness for it, so it could not be missing here. There is some kind of subliminal magic here, thanks to which the receiving senses behave differently. The awesome bass and vocals take us to a different, soothing club world.

St Germain – Rose Rogue
Return to France with the help of Ludovic Navarre also known as St Germain. Jazz in club music worked very well in those days but nowadays you will search in vain for it. However, history may come full circle again, so everything is ahead of us.

Djuma Soundsystem – Les Djinns (Trentemoller Remix)
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the next track but we focus on the music here and the one performed by maestro Trentemoller is definitely something of the highest quality. The evolving pads in this track create a unique atmosphere. There are also a lot of ambient elements here which combined with all the musicality give us an almost perfect musical image.

Stephan Bodzin – Wir
We also love Moog’s sound as much as Stephan does but to work out a riff from this monophonic synthesizer is something only master Stefan Bodzin is able to do. This very track is long remembered and the pads appearing in the background resemble the works of William Orbit. This in turn provides the nostalgic element and the recipe for an all timer is ready
