Meat Katie

1. Sade ‘Turn my back on you’
Pure class, Sade will never date, she never strays far from my CD player.

2. Sound Garden ‘Black Hole Sun’
I can remember the first time i heard this track, where i was and what i was doing, it stopped me in my tracks, powerful message!

3. Bob Marley & the Wailers ‘Lively up yourself’
The only decent thing my mother liked, music wise, reminds me of growing up, and it still sounds as great as the first time i heard it.

4. Soul Coughing ‘Screen Writers Blues’
I love the spoken word of M Doughty and on this he really , the whole Ruby Vroom album is just jam packed of gems like this, another band that i felt went under the radar.

5. Blackalicious  ‘One of a kind’
San Francisco is maybe not the hot bed of hip hop that Atlanta or LA are,  but the scene there is intelligent, thought provoking and the parties go off!

6. David Bowie ‘Fame’
Never really got David Bowie until i heard this, you can see (well hear!) what all the fuss is about.

7. Rancid ‘Hyena’
My first ‘real’ music i got into was skate punk as a kid, and Operation Ivy were one of the greatest IMHO, so when Lars the vocalist from OI  turned up years after with a new outfit Rancid, i fell in love with the scene once again, its the energy i think.

8. Green Day ‘Long View’
Dont laugh!

9. Gnarls Barkley ‘Who Cares’
I’ve always love Ceelo’s vocals going back to his days with the Goodie Mob, but his work with Dangermouse is simply outstanding, a match made in heaven.

10. Cop Shoot Cop ‘Lullaby’
One of the most under rated bands. I saw them at Reading festival about 10 years ago on the main stage and they blew me away, i rushed out and bought anything i could find from Cop Shoot Cop, i still listen to tracks off the ‘Reverse’ album pretty much weekly, classic stuff (to me!)
