Rhys Adams (Yes King)

1. Yes King “Champion Sound” – ft Kenny Knotts, Baby Chann and Mystro
This is the opening track from our new album a great way to start any mix CD !

2. Mr Benn “Longtime” – ft Blackout JA and Blacktwang
A summer smash waiting to happen. After releasing a series of great booties Mr Benn has taken tings up a level for his own production and smashed it with this skanking summer beaut.

3. Turbulence “Notorious”
This tune hasn’t left my box for a couple of years now, a crazy rhythm and top vocal guaranteed to get all men, women and children’s battys bouncing. I never tire of this track!

4.  Buju Banton “Sound Killa”
Big tune from the Gargamel, Buju Banton, on John John records. ‘Soundkilla’ throws the lyrics straight to a sound boys head, no tricks, just straight-up old skool dancehall…flash it!!

5. Bob Marley “Sun Is Shining” Yesking Remix
This was a big tune for us getting prop’s from the likes of Stones Throw and making it onto the vinyl 3 track 12″. If you’re gonna play a remix that you’ve done to some mates who have come back to yours for the night then it’s gonna be the Bob Marley one that you play.

6.  Ann Peebles “I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down”
This is one of my all time favourites, classic soul from the Memphis based Hi Records crew. Brass and string arrangements that Mark Ronson has obviously been listening to. Love the sound of this old record.

7. Samuri “Wha Gwan” Pantoptikum Remix
If you’ve been checking the GAMM releases over the last few years you’ll be familiar with the quality that comes from this label particularly from their edits and versions. This is a relatively new release and features Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” Vocal on a lush bed of dubbed out pads and beats. “Just one more before bed”

8.  Overproof Soundsystem “The Model”
This is a killer cover of the Kraftwerk classic. Brass replaces synths….Need I say anymore.

9. Richie Phoe “Heartical Behavior”
Richie Phoe is one to watch this year with some killa tracks featuring Tippa Irie and a Yes King remix on its way.  Heartical Behaviour is one of Richie’s earlier tracks released on Rebub Recordings. Big bassline and groove, turn it up and invite the neighbours round too.

10.  Nuffwish Bangers r Mashed “Healing in Vain”
The biggest mash up ever from the finest purveyors of the mash-up genre, this sounds like it was intended this to be this way. Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” over Bob Marley’s “Waiting In Vain”. When these guys put these two together they must have been shocked. If you need something to play, anywhere, to get you out of trouble just drop this.
