Aiwaska

Introduce yourself. Who exactly is Aiwaska?

Aiwaska is a musician whose core philosophy is built on three pillars: music, the planet, and wildlife. His sound fuses live ethnic instruments with classic analog house rhythm sections, while exploring deeper layers of sound through elements like 432 Hz tuning and binaural waves. At the heart of the project is a mission — to support wildlife and protect the planet through a variety of creative and social initiatives.

What first inspired you to become a producer?

I’ve been making music since 1996. I’d say music is where I truly found myself.

Congrats on your upcoming LP! Looking back over your career, what are some of your most defining moments?

Every day, every detail matters — they shape the way I see the world and myself. The more open and present you are, the more the world reveals to you.

What do you hope listeners feel when they hear Flora Fauna?

This album is more dancefloor-oriented, but it also holds unique acoustic moments, diverse melodies, and rare instruments. I believe it will resonate deeply with listeners.

What challenges have you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?

I don’t really see them as challenges — it’s the path. Life presents us with tasks that help us grow and evolve. As long as you’re not afraid to face them and stay aware of their meaning, you’ll move forward.

In your view, what has been the biggest milestone or achievement you’ve made so far in your career?

Everything is made up of small details, and each one matters. Sometimes we overlook the little steps that make the final result possible. So for me, everything I do and accomplish holds value.

When you first started in music, what were your core values or goals, and how have those evolved?

From day one, music became my life. My goal has always been to share love and emotions that uplift people — to inspire them toward kindness and inner growth. That intention has never changed.

What is Aiwaska Planet, and what does it mean to you?

Aiwaska Planet is a creative and social movement I started to help protect wildlife and the planet. It includes audiovisual live shows, art installations, NFTs, niche fragrances, a music label, and in the future — a charity foundation. A percentage of revenue from all these activities goes toward supporting nature and animals.

Why is it important to connect your music with environmental causes?

That’s the foundation of the Aiwaska project. From the start, I didn’t just want to create another DJ project — I wanted to build a whole world. A world rooted in the beauty of the wild, in our planet and its creatures. I want people to see that we’re not alone here — we must care for our fellow inhabitants. Music is the bridge that connects us all.

Were your family supportive in your formative music career?

Yes, my family has always supported me. They’ve been very open-minded, and I’m truly grateful for the trust and encouragement they gave me when I needed it most. Outside of music, what else makes you tick?

Creativity in all its forms: painting, sculpture, ballet, architecture.

What would be your perfect collaboration?

Every collaboration is special, especially when you create in the same flow. I’m grateful to all the amazing artists featured on my album — Aquarius Heaven, Thomas Gandey, Prana Flow, JAW, and Megane Mercury. It’s a true pleasure to work with them.

Talk us through your creative process?

I create from the heart, in a natural flow. When your intentions are pure, great ideas tend to find their way to you.

What’s something we don’t already know about Aiwaska?

You should come experience one of my live shows — that’s where you’ll truly understand.

Do you have any weaknesses you’re actively trying to improve?

We’re always refining ourselves — like turning a rough stone into a diamond. I never stop growing. Anyone can change everything if they have the will and the desire.

Which piece of studio kit is your favourite and why?

The Roland 303 — a timeless classic. I love acid, and this synth delivers that sound perfectly.

What is it about music that excites you most?

Honesty and purity. When music is created from the soul, it carries a completely different kind of energy — it becomes timeless.

Give us 3 of your favourite songs, past or present…

I’m a true music lover — I listen to everything, across genres and moods. From classical music to progressive rock, live sitar, and deep ambient. But here are three that came to mind right now, all absolutely genius:

Tool – Schism

Mozart – Die Zauberflöte

Aphex Twin – Avril 14th

What advice would you pass on to younger generations?

Create with love, not for fame. Stay authentic and always expand your perspective.

What’s the best piece of advice another person ever gave you?

Work on yourself. Strive for wisdom, fairness, honesty, and inner light.

DJs are often great Chefs with creativity in their blood. Is this the case for you?

Creativity is my life — it flows into everything I do.
