Carl Cox – Electronic Generations [BMG]

Oh Yes, Oh Yes!

The undisputed king of electronic dance music returns with his eagerly anticipated and first artist album in over 10 years!   Acting as a precursor and spearheading his deep dive into Live performance, we are treated to no less than 17 fresh and exciting tracks, concocted and finely honed over lockdown with a whole array of vintage analogue artillery from Carl’s garage. The glassy synth lines and and broken beats of ‘Our Time Will Come’ are just pure class, ‘Get After It’, reminiscent of Cybersonik with it’s crunchy (and funky) 303 groove, whilst “See The Sun Rising’ instantaneously conjures epic images of Carl throwing himself around a vast stage with his huge grin. Dancefloor friendly collaborations and club rockers arrive and impress as pals Nicole Moudaber and Norman Cook join the party, with conjuctive remixes also from hot property LF System, Riton and Dan Diamond. Forever pushing himself and musical boundaries, ‘Electronic Generations’ is an essential, joyous, trend-swerving and experienced delivery from the peoples’s favourite. Let’s just hope it’s not another 10 years until the next Carl Cox LP.
