DMCWORLD grabs a world exclusive with the extremely talented DJ and producer Milwin as he releases his new single ‘Hostage’. This follows the huge collab with Discrete and Sofia Karlberg ‘Glowing Up’ and the massive ‘New Levels’ with fellow Swede Tobtok, which smashed over 15 million combined streams. Is there no end to this superstar’s talents’…?
Hey Milwin, thanks for joining us today. How are you?
Hi DMC! Thanks for having me. I feel amazing, the Swedish summer is finally here.
You recently released your single ‘Glowing Up’. Could you tell us about the story behind the track?
Correct! We had basically just a normal session me, Discrete and Tudor in Stockholm a few months ago. We wrote the whole track in that session and then later on put Sofia Karlberg on the track which turned out great! I can guarantee some more music from us in the future for sure!
How would you describe your creative process?
It depends on what mood I’m in. I usually get a feeling of making something, a kind of style or a feeling. Then just go straight to my computer and starts creating. It could be any kind of genre.
Does it change depending on the nature of the track being made?
Yes it does. Each track is unique and I always strive to produce something new and fresh.
If you could collab with any artist, who would that be and why?
Theres so many! But if I had to choose one it would be Quincy Jones
What positives have you taken from the current world situation?
More time in the studio cooking up some fire songs to share with the world.
Life after COVID, where will you go clubbing first?
Probably my own concept show “Milwin+Friends” in Sweden.
What inspires your sound?
Different places, scents, people, music, emotions, travel.
Is there anyone who has influenced you musically?
I’ve had so many throughout the years, but I’ve always been very influenced by Calvin Harris.
What has kept you sane throughout this year?
Friends, Family, my team, my fans and beer.
Favourite tracks to wake up to?
Depends on what mood I’m in. But a good feeling type of track like Teardrops with Womack & Womack. But I’m also that guy that can blast techno in the morning too.
Do you have any new releases in the works that you can share with us?
I have a new single coming out July 9th which is called ’’Hostage’’. Then I have another track coming out in August called ’’Familiar’’ with Tudor so be ready!!
