Hey guys! A huge welcome to DMCWORLD, how are you today?
Great to be here! These are quite turbulent times but we’re still pretty relaxed and looking forward to the upcoming months.
You have had an incredible year last year with your award winning hit “Head Shoulders Knees & Toes’ – how did that feel?
It really took us by surprise. HSKT was originally released as an in between dance track and nobody expected this kind of resonance in the first place. The song kept growing the whole year and opened so many doors. We’re extremely grateful that an afternoon with friends in London one week before the lockdown led to something this special.
What was your inspiration behind ‘Touch My Body’?
By the time we wrote TMB we really had a crush on 90s RnB. We wrote the song in 93BPM with an RnB feel, rhythm and piano. Then we experimented with the demo and fell in love with the way it morphed into the disco/dance vibe it has now. Speeding up Josh’s voice and pitching it down kinda gives the sonic impression of a sample taken from some old vinyl.

Who are your musical inspirations and how would you say they influence your music?
Quarterhead started as an acoustic songwriting project back in high school. So musicians like John Mayer or Bruno Mars definitely left their footprint. More recently we’re into the sounds of Diplo, Calvin Harris, or Dua Lipa. Also working on some more club/house tracks right now.
You have had a lot of incredible collaborations, who do you want to work with next?
There is already some stuff in the pipeline we can’t reveal yet – stay tuned!
When can we expect to hear your next track?
We’re currently in the studio daily making progress on so many ideas, songs and vibes. Creativity is in full swing. It won’t be long for sure!
What does the future look like for Quarterhead?
The crystal ball is not at hand right now but we’re pretty sure we’re on the right path artistically right now. The songs, the team, the vibes just feel really good. We’ll go with the flow. There is nothing you can force about music anyway.
