Cash Only has swiftly carved out a reputation as a versatile producer on the house scene, blending driving house rhythms with afro-inspired elements and a nod to his UK Garage and Jungle roots dating back to 1996. His rapid ascent in the studio has seen him sign tracks to acclaimed labels such as Nervous, Dvine Sounds, Upcycle, and Stashed, with multiple top ten and top twenty placements on download stores. His skills extend beyond the studio, with a packed DJ schedule taking him to prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including Ministry of Sound, Glastonbury Festival, and Miami Music Week. As his new collaboration with Holly Ellison ‘Trust In Me’ lands on Electronic Nature, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Cash Only.
Hither Green – Speakers Corner Quartet
Heard this last year at Glastonbury and was gripped by its emotion and story, I had it on repeat in the car for weeks after.
Sio x Atmos Blaq – Land of the Dreamers
I’m a huge fan of the new wave of afro that is coming through and Atmos Blaq is one of my favourite producers right now. Sio has such a unique voice and is an incredible songwriter I had to include this track. My 14-year-old has recently started learning to DJ and this is probably her favourite track so I can often hear it blaring out from the streaming room we have at home when she’s practicing!
Together – 24 Hour Experience
Possibly the track that made me want to be a DJ and made by one of my Heros Grant Nelson under his alias the 24 Hour Experience. I still remember hearing it at Gas Club in London as a 16 year old sneaking into my first garage raves, the piano break is just so iconic.
CASISDEAD – Drugs Don’t Work
I’m totally obsessed with Casisdead, it’s actually quite embarrassing. I’m in awe of the way he’s created such an iconic figure within the UK rap scene but also managed to bring that to the mainstream with tracks like “Pat Earrings”.
Floating Points – Arp 3
Floating points is such an amazing producer and I’m a big fan of his early stuff which uses building melodies to create tension, When I land in Ibiza throughout the season this is normally one of the first tracks I put on in the hire car!
4hero – Hold It Down (Bugz In The Attic Remix)
A Southport Weekender anthem that holds many good memories for me, Feel good vibes every time. I love Broken Beat and Bugz in the Attic for me were at the forefront of that scene for many years.
Sole Fusion – Bass Tone
I just love this track and Strictly Rhythm is such a major player in the early evolution of House music.
Kerri Chandler – Bar A Thym
No playlist would be complete without something from King Kerri. Met him at a festival last year and asked him to settle the debate on how this track is actually pronounced, its actually named after a french bar and restaurant he went to and its correct pronunciation is Bar a “Tim” and not “time” as many people say.
Lenny Fontana – Spirit of the Sun (Steve Gurley Mix)
Another garage classic makes the list and I just had to include something from Public Demand that was the most pivotal UK Garage label of all time. Jimmy from Public Demand has actually allowed me to remix this with an amazing up and coming producer called Charlo and I’m looking forward to releasing it later in the summer on Dvine Sounds.
Martyn – Popgun
This track encapsulates every style and sound that I love industrial jungle-influenced drums, a UK Garage groove and an amazing bassline. One I reach for when I need that extra burst of energy as it definitely guarantees to wake you up!
