Back To Mine With DJ SUN

DJ SUN is a Swiss-born, Berlin-based DJ who came up through the illegal rave scene. He soon moved on to throwing his own illicit parties and honed his DJ skills, playing techno infused with everything from house to hip-hop and jazz. He heads up the Otium label in collaboration with his best friend Rødig. As he releases his new ‘Hustle & Post’ EP including five brilliant originals with remixes from Klint, Rødig and Toobris, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with DJ SUN.

The XX – Tides

“Coexist” by The XX is one of my most-played albums – I’ve purchased it on nearly every format. When it was released, their sound was truly groundbreaking. The minimal elements and the moody, sexy atmosphere created something completely new. A must-listen and a must-understand album.

James Brown – People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul

You can’t overlook James Brown – he was a true pioneer. His influence shaped gospel, rhythm and blues, soul, funk, rap, and disco. A cornerstone of modern music.

Michael Jackson – They Don’t Care About Us

The entire discography of the King of Pop, enough said. An everlasting influence.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside

Their funk rock has always driven me crazy. John Frusciante’s guitar work is absolutely mind-blowing.

To me, she has the greatest voice in disco and soul music—pure power and passion.

Bob Marley – Is This Love

Both Bob Marley’s music and reggae as a genre were my companions during a tough time in my life. I adore his entire discography.
