Ofra Haza – Im Nin’ Alu
One of the first songs in my young life to simply mesmerize my ear drums. So many sounds, such a beautiful ambient flow and it didn’t matter that I couldn’t understand one word. WOW. The late great amazing Ofra Haza was one of a kind.
Francis and the Lights – My City’s Gone
A song that always reminds me change is life. Haunting, yet relevant to any time in life. Suddenly all the more poignant since the fires of early 2025 in California. (My birthplace).
Kim English – It Makes A Difference
My faith is the rock from where my strength is drawn. The testimony of the brilliant vocalist Kim English says it all here in every lyric. Not preachy or Insistent, just a beautifully melodic reminder.
Miguel Migs & Lisa Shaw – Honey
Miguel Migs is by far my favorite House DJ/Producer. A rhythm and blues style master with a dance groove like no other. His muse, Lisa Shaw lays in the cut of his tracks like butta. The perfect marriage of house music and vocalist.
Aaliyah – Rock The Boat
Try not to get naked listening to this track, it’s sexy, infectious and mysterious. Ask a friend over and…
Kings of Tomorrow ft April – Fall For You
I love this track. The warmth of the chords and bass sit perfectly for the vocalist to ask, “Would it be wrong if I fall for you?” Stunning.. This is a great summer on the beach song.
Odyssey – Native New Yorker
The Greatest City in the world deserves a song. What’s amazing is that it emits a certain, if you know, you know… feeling. For any New Yorker, it never gets old. And for the rest… You’ll want to know more about a magical place called New York City.
Kate Bush – The Man With The Child In His Eyes
I am a big Kate Bush fan. Big! This song is my absolute favorite. I guess I think she’s talking to me or about me. Such a beautiful track. I’m so grateful to have discovered her music.
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan – Please Pardon Me
Any true Chaka fan knows that her real gems are in the early catalogue with the band Rufus. Back in my Soul Train days, this song was the jam. Chaka in all her glory here, letting that incredible instrument of hers soar!
Angelique Kidjo – Fifa
I was shellshocked the first time I heard this artist. One of the greatest voices ever. The strength and conviction in her style is awe-inspiring. Fifa is a masterpiece in colours and flavours using voices and instruments. Close your eyes and enjoy.
