Back To Mine with Liaison

Rising Huddersfield based DJ & producer Liaison has shared his high-energy new single ‘Love Will Take You Higher’ via Warning Records/Sony RCA UK. DMCWorld goes back to mine with Liaison.

The 1975 – Somebody Else

Sorry to start on such a low note, but I mean, no introduction, one of the best written songs I’ve ever heard. I’m a huge 1975 fan at heart. They’re always somewhere in my car playlist. The sound palette, chords, melodies and lyrics are probably the reason it’s their most streamed song. It’s a song most people can relate to I’m sure!

Kawala – Runaway

Aw man, what a record this is, I just love the Australian folk band vibe, reminds me of a red hot day, southern county fair, hay bales scattered everywhere, can of cider in hand & tractors parked up with people sat on them having a good time. This is one of my favourite songs to be fair, the harmonies are probably the best I’ve ever heard. Weird because the music video is nothing like I picture when listening to the song, just goes to show how people perceive sound differently!

Elderbrook x Rudimental – Something About You

I love Elderbrook’s sound, and this record for me is so moving. The production is so tight too, but what really sets this record of is when you’ve watched the video to accompany it. They nailed it.

Daft Punk – Digital Love

Probably be my funeral song, I just remember being very young when I first heard this record, I’d never heard vocals processed through a synthesizer like this before. It has so much emotion in the guitar lead in the middle 8. The whole chords everything made me feel something from such a young age.

Dijon – The Dress

My future wife needs to know this will have to be highly considered to be our wedding song.. One of my friends showed me this track a couple years ago and I literally have it on repeat. The buttery smooth vocals of Dijon coupled with the gorgeous instrumental.

Khalid – Better

Picture a nice evening drive during summer with your loved one, its 26*c outside, and the suns setting on the horizon. No destination planned. That’s this track for me. Then you get blessed with the unreal vocoder synth part at the end. Pure eargasm.

Boy In Space – Drown

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard if I’m honest. Boy In Space has such a good tone in his voice, and you genuinely hear he feels this record. If you’ve been through a break-up, you can 100% connect to this. And if you haven’t, I recon you will feel like you can relate with the way he delivers it.

S1mba, DTG – Rover

One of my favourite afrobeat/rnb records, the beat is sick, vocals are hooky as hell and Simba & DTG’s verses are bang on. It’s every young lad’s anthem that’s trying to get their heads down and focus on work and avoid them toxic relationships growing up. If im in an RNB room in a club, this is one of my jams for sure.

2pac – Do For Love

This track is so good for a summer nights drive, feeling a million dollars, jamming along. Classic Tupac, always wanted to sample the hook.

London Grammar – Strong – Ministry of Sound

This tracks just like no other for me, The vocals so soulful and gospel with the massive hall reverbs, it sounds like a prayer or hymm and the lead singer Hannah just delivers it so powerfully.
