Back To Mine With Shades of Rhythm

Dance music legends Shades Of Rhythm have held down an amazing career since the emergence of the rave scene with now classic hits such as ‘Homicide’, ‘Exorcist’, ‘Sweet Sensation’, ‘Sound of Eden’ and their album title track ‘Frequency’ propelling them into the lime light. They were thrown into a rave whirlwind and played alongside groundbreaking artists The Prodigy, N-joi and K-Klass at raves and clubs such as Raindance, Fantazia, The Astoria and The Haçienda. Still very much at the top of their game, they headline bills on the oldskool circuit for Fantazia & Raindance and performing at festivals such as Arcadia stage at Glastonbury alongside Carl Cox and Heidi, Boomtown Fair and Slammin Vinyl’s festival Tranzmission. As they get ready to perform at UNDER Presents Café Mambo Ibiza ‘Classics Under The Bridge’ beneath the Nene Parkway Flyover in Peterborough on Saturday May 3rd as part of the UNDER Weekender, DMCWorld goes Back to Mine With the mighty Shades Of Rhythm.

The Nightwriters – Let The Music (Use You) (Club Mix) – Danica Records

Classic from our old skool rave days.

Freeez – Southern Freeez – Beggars Banquet

Typical example of British funk from the early 80’s that we were in to, we were 14 year old, there was just something about the groove and repetitive beats that we loved!!

Donna Allen – Joy & Pain (Dr Packer Remix) – High Fashion Music

We all absolutely love Soul, Funk and Jazz from the 80’s so we Love most things that Dr Packer touches. This one in particular!! And a salute to the latest great Frankie Beverly.

You Can’t Have Your Cake And Eat It Too (Michael Gray & Dr Packer Remix) – West End Records

Another superb rerub from Dr Packer. Tracks like this was our jam when we was at school, a decade before home computers and a good 20 years before the internet kicked in lol

Black Science Orchestra – New Jersey Deep – Junior Boy’s Own

Fabulous track.. Reminds me of us getting down to this after a show in Ibiza a few years ago.

Michael Cassette – Memories (Original Mix) – Anjunadeep

A breakbeat version of this we played back in the naughties tore up anywhere it was played. This version is deep but either way, holla’s back to those euphoric old skool rave days.

Addison Groove – Brand New Drop – Nuff Pedals Remix – Gutterfunk

People are kickin back n talking… enjoying each other company, just nodding heads n’ tappin feet.

Nightmares on Wax – Les Nuits – Warp Records

Classic long drive home track after the night before!!

DJ Cuto, Adan Roguez – Smoke This… Too! (Original Mix) – 13monkeys Records

If you wasn’t awake, you are now.

Disclosure – She’s Gone, Dance On (Live From The Mews) – Apollo Records

Love the single release of this track but was blown away by their live performance at the Mews.
