Tampa in the house! Cade a huge welcome to DMCWORLD towers, how has your day been today?

My day has been great so far! Woke up, ate a great breakfast and ready to have a productive day!

The best piece of new music you have heard since rolling out of bed?

In My Head (Steve James & Joe Mason Remix) – stumbled upon this on Soundcloud and loving it.

An incredible twelve months for you sir since you released your debut ‘The Care EP’ on Spinnin’ Records last summer, I’m guessing these 8 months have flown by?

Thank you so much! Yes, they really have. Its been so exciting watching this project grow. Time flies when you’re having fun!

Well let’s get down to it. A new year and a new slab of slammin’ production for us, this time in the form of ‘Sorry For Myself’ which is out now. It’s a tune that is an ode to anyone out there who cannot let go of their last relationship. So the obvious question, is it a record you write from personal experience?

It is. I wrote this song when I was having a hard time getting over a girl I was talking to. I knew I should simply move on, but it was easier said than done. Haha.

The tune has supported massive support from the likes of The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, R3hab and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike…do you have these kind of artists and their dancefloors in mind when creating music or is simply a case of doing your own thing in the knowledge you make ‘effin great music?

I do! Dance music has always been a huge part of my life, so it has a lot of influence on the music I create. I try my best to keep my music dynamic like dance music and always want my tracks to have enough energy to be enjoyed in the club.

When was the last time you danced to a DJ?

Actually two nights ago. Haha. I went to my friends Cheat Codes’ show in Los Angeles and they crushed it as always.

Okay let’s rewind for a moment. You can sing, write sweet music and produce…do you hail from a musical family? What is your earliest memory of music?

I do! My mom and grandma are both great singers / pianists. My grandma actually used to teach NSYNC & the Backstreet Boys how to sing their harmonies.

When I was 5 years old I remember a moment where I was watching TV with my parents and the commercial had a sing-along jingle. I just remember running to the piano in the other room to try to play along and I figured out the melody. My parents called my grandma freaking out. Haha.

When did the idea of a career pop into your head and what did your family think of this decision?

When I was 16 and I started touring with other artists, I knew music was my passion and that I would be pursuing it full-time for the rest of my life. I decided to switch to online school during my junior year of high school so I could have more time to focus on music, and at the end of my senior year, I suggested the idea of not going to college so I could pursue music full-time. At first, my parents thought I was crazy, but once they saw how passionate and serious I was about it, they started to change their minds and supported me completely.

Who were/are some of your musical heroes? Intrigued to find out what is behind your R&B infused electronica sounds…

My music takes inspiration from R&B artists such as Drake, Bryson Tiller and The Weeknd to club DJs like Martin Garrix, DVBBS and DJ Snake. I grew up listening to artists like John Mayer, Kings of Leon and Coldplay, so I pull from most every genre when creating music.

Was it always going to be a musical path for you or was there ever anything else you were/are interested in?

I played football and baseball back in the day, but it always came second to my music. I used to skip practices for music lessons – my coaches were never happy about that. Haha.

How did electronic music appear on your radar?

My brother, who is 5 years older than me got me into dance music when I was about 15 years old. We would listen to it non-stop and at the age of 16 I attended my first dance music festival. After experiencing it live I fell in love with the energy and knew it would be my favorite genre for the rest of my life.

You have written with the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Vicetone and Boehm…what is the secret to writing amazing lyrics for dance music?

I’m not sure if I know “the secret” haha, but for me, I always try to pull from life experience and try my best to make my story apply to the people that would be listening in the club.

What are your ambitions for the next 5 years?

In the next 5 years, I would love to perform at festivals like Ultra, Coachella, and Bonnaroo, have my own headlining tour – and hopefully win a Grammy. I want to be the biggest and the best.

What do your friends make of your music, they into it or do they prefer other sounds?

My friends like my music! My close friends are really into dance music and my new music is definitely dance-influenced. Their favorite tracks are the ones that I feature on with DJs, I think. Haha.

How did the Spinnin’ Records hook up happen?

My management is tied in with Spinnin’ and sent my music over to them with the hopes that they would be interested. Spinnin’ responded back enthusiastically…and the rest is history haha…

Miami Music Week is just around the corner and only a two hour drive away for you. Will you be making the journey down crocodile highway for the fun?

Absolutely. Wouldn’t miss it for the world. Its my favorite week of the year. Should be performing at a few of the events this year… wink wink!!

And finally, what is coming out next from you musically?

In the next few months, I am featuring on a dance track with my friends Niko the Kid & Bee’s Knee’s, a solo release called “Where We Left” and a collaboration with my roommates, Cheat Codes! Super excited about that one.
