Datsik and Bais Haus teaming up for the freshest collab of 2015

Guys a huge welcome to DMCWORLD…where on planet earth are you two right now?
We are on the Safe In Sound tour in the middle of nowhere. We have a day off and it’s cold and rainy hahaha. Just sitting on the tour bus writing some new fire that we can’t wait to play out!!
What was the first piece of music you heard this morning after rolling out of bed?
Hahahah it was a Michael McDonald song directly followed by Zed’s Dead “Lost You”. After that I couldn’t stop singing the lyrics to that in Michael McDonald’s voice. I’m sure I started driving Troy crazy after doing it 100 times.
Frigging crazy time for you both right now with two massive tunes causing all sorts of dancefloor damage…let’s kick of ‘Duckface’…please talk us through the sound and history of the track…
We were both on the Ninja Nation Tour on a stop in Vancouver. Our boy Dkay was on the bus and he gave Troy some acapellas. I was super tired and started crashing out, meanwhile Troy was buzzing from the show and started laying some shit out. I got a text at like 5am and he’s like “Dude I think I got something dope here.” We ended up going back to the studio in LA and working on it. Gotta give a shout out to JVST SAY YES cause originally we were gonna do a collab with that bassline but ended up fusing the vocals with it instead.
Must have been quite a moment for you to see the tune dropped at MTV’s VMA Awards last week…did you know it was gonna air?
We were told our tunes might be played on MTV for the VMAs….we had no idea it was gonna be played right after Pharrel played at the peak moment of the whole show. We were so stoked when our manager sent us the video. We were in Atlanta at the time for a festival and that got us more excited than actually being at the show.
Where did you first roadtest the track?
We have played small little parties unannounced so far and we are testing out all of the stuff we have made. Our real debut will be at Insomniac’s Escape festival this Halloween. We are making sure everything is 100% dialed for that.
Do either of you have rubber ducks in the bath?
Bais: I have a rubber duck above my toilet hahaha. His name is Javier and he is one sly mother fucker. As for me (aka Troy) ducks have been my favorite animal ever since I’ve been a young lad so yes, ducks have been on deck since day one. I actually plan on owning a duck later on in life and want to name him Dillon.
‘Rock The Party’ – a colossal tune…again, talk us through the record…so many superstar DJs have been smashing it…
It was originally a big room tune that I (Bais) started on then when I came to Troys we started turning it into a bass/trap tune. It wasn’t til we decided that we were gonna go future house style on it that we got Jauz involved. We were all touring at the time so we didn’t really have a lot of studio time with Jauz but I suppose what time we did have was enough to turn it out! Troy gave it the signature womp treatment and then we went anal on the mix down. To be honest, like most tunes, we mainly worked on it while on tour from our laptops and when we got home and hit the studio, that’s when it all started to really get to where it needed to be! All in all that track went through so many different versions and it has like 120 tracks on it or something crazy like that. But I think that’s why it works. The track has some house, big room, progressive, trap, dubstep. It really is a tune that translates in most DJ’s sets.

Haha alright just cuz you guys are special!! ya we did a remix for Oliver Heldens and Shaun Frank “Shades Of Grey” feat the gorgeous miss Delaney Jane. So far the response has been crazy!! We saw a clip of Zed’s Dead dropping it at Electric Zoo on MainStage and the crowd went mental. So pumped for that one to drop! Stay tuned for sure.

2 homies. JVST SAY YES & JoyRyde. Both of these dudes are dropping the heaters right now.
What are the 5 big new tunes in your box this weekend, please give us a few words on each…
Ephwurd “Duckface” – Well duh we are picking this one hahaha. We have our music video coming out for this tune really soon and we are so pumped to show it to the world. Its fucking hilarious.
JVST SAY YES “Push It” – This tune is pure fire!!! He has this one synth that sound like an elephant doing coke or something its awesome.
Skrillex & Jauz “Squad Out” – Gotta give a shout out to the homie Jauz. This tune he did with Skrillex is mental. Parts of this track remind me of some of the Dog Blood tunes that Skrill did with Boyz Noise.
Burns “Make It Clap” – This new tune by Burns is def one to look out for!! It is like a mix between G House and the stuff we are trying to make. This one is a really good DJ tool.
JoyRyde “Speed Trap” – This tune is Pedal to the metal swerved out 128 bass music. Nuff said.
When was the last time you had a real good dance to a DJ?
Bais: Justin Martin and Claude VonStroke at Shambhala 2015. Troy: Excision had my favorite set this year.. Next level shit!
Best party of summer 2015?
Shambhala was amazing this year!! Such a crazy weekend. So many fun experiences with so many different friends. Even our manager was turning up!!! That’s like spotting a unicorn.
