ADE 2015 – Tobtok

Making his ADE debut! Loved the Bakermat party, Eats Everything and Lost Frequencies…

Party/show of ADE?

It has to be the Bakermat-party at De Overkant. I went there with fellow DJ Dante Klein and his good mate and we hung out backstage along with friendly faces like Sam Feldt and Michael Calfan. I expected it to be just a small club-venue but it was like a massive warehouse-style arena! Really cool…

Standout tracks you played/heard during ADE?

Dancing (Again!) by Eats Everything. I did not expect to hear such a tech banger because I mostly saw like Disco and Deep-house DJs hehe. It’s also one of my favorite club-tracks this year. Lastly, I was surprised by Lost Frequencies set at Sam Feldt’s boat party. He played some really cool and fresh edits on some classic tunes. They will probably remain “ID – ID…”

Best selfie of ADE…

Apparently I was too distracted and busy to take a photo with anyone. I barely have any photos at all. I blame the weather because it was constantly raining so I had to keep my phone protected in my pocket!

Top 100 DJ thoughts?

In my opinion the whole list is kind of pointless really. It shows who has the most promotion-budget pretty much. They should do a list with top producers because of the amount of ghost-produced DJs on the list! I also feel that it’s irrelevant who is the “top DJ in the world” as it’s really down to taste of music. I doubt there’s any difference in terms of technical-skills of DJs in the top 10. My number 1 DJ this year has probably been The Magician. I’ve seen him a few times and he always busts out killer tunes that fit the mood!

Party animal of the week?

Me and my manager I guess haha!

Why is ADE so important in the dance community

Well, this was actually my first visit to ADE but I really got the hang of it. It’s such an important week for the dance-business in general as all the labels and the people who work in the industry are gathered at the same place and link up and get to know each other. I met so many valuable contacts and fellow producers during my short stay there. It also kind of set the future of how dance-music will evolve over the next coming months, with people testing out new tunes and labels making strategies and speculating. It was all in all a very great weekend and I will definitely go back next year.
