01. Grace Jones – Slave to the Rhythm
Recently I’ve been playing this out as the end of night tune and it never fails. So I would throw it in as an opener back at the house post partying.
02. Lee “Scratch” Perry – Sound of Jamaica from Back at The Controls
I was recently reminded of a trip to Jamaica, so this is a bit of nostalgia and sitting back.
03. Finitribe – 101
I’m bugging everyone with this just now as we are about to release it in its full original glory. Andrew’s Intensity mix of 101 is still as fresh as a daisy. Loud and Clear!
04. The Human League – Being Boiled
The Sheffield contingent were a huge influence on us as a band. Originally released in 1978 by Edinburgh label Fast Product. Huge downtempo sexy as fuck track !
05. Dark Strands – Slide
I CANNOT get enough of this label. Nein Records are producing very good music. This track is just phenomenal. Such a pleasure to play records and see people’s faces light up. Beautiful.
06. Shame – Young Fathers
Young Fathers are simply the most vital group anywhere just now. We are playing a show with them in Edinburgh on June 9th along with Andrew Weatherall. Edinburgh has not had a more important gig in the last 20 years. It’s huge and we love them!
07. Feels With Me – The Sexual Objects
The Sexual Objects are my perfect pop group. Davy Henderson is probably best known for Fire Engines but the SOBs are just as crucial
08. Burt Bacharach – The Look of Love
When John and I started working on some music last year we thought it a good idea to stretch our vocal chords a little. John chose this track and it may transpire that we release an ep of Burt’s tracks. Watch this space.
09. Nick Cave – The Ship Song
Just because it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
10. CAN – Halleluhwah
Again just for sitting back – eyes closed – time to go home. Trippy Psyche.
