Future superstar alert! These are the dudes to keep the party rockin’ right…After hours grooving…
You might not know them now, but you soon will. With the likes of Claude Vonstroke championing their chunky, dark techno sounds, GAIST are a name you need to keep an eye on. Having already destroyed dance floors at We Are FSTVL, Sankeys Ibiza, Zoo Project and beyond, we chatted to the duo to find out what we’d be hearing at one of their hotel room / wardrobe after-parties…
01. Alan Fitzpatrick – Love Siren
We always begin any set with a statement of intent, even if it’s in the hotel after the gig with just a handful of people. Love siren is our track of choice at the moment…. What a drop!
02. Dubfire – Roadkill
A truly timeless track by someone we hold up there as one of the best in the industry, Dubfire. A track we still feature sometimes in our sets (when we can). So many great memories.
03. D-Unity – Sensation
An after party is all about one thing…. keeping the party going, so if we are all heading “Back To Mine” that’s exactly what we are gonna do, and D-Unity – Sensation does exactly that! !
04. Adrian Hour – Again Faster (Alberto Ruiz Remix)
Such a driving tune, this weeds out the pretenders from the real after party people, if you make it past this point you are truly committed to seeing the sun come up with us (If it hasn’t already)
05. Cirez D – On Off
This track ALWAYS features at our after parties it’s sometimes a battle to see who can play it 1st (but not too early). The timing has to be just right, the honour usually falls to our good friend and fellow DJ, Rob Mitchell.
06. Miguel Bastida – Moudness
This literally needs no explanation. We played this track in our sets in America in March and it has just never got boring. I bet we are still playing it when we are 80.
07. Claude Vonstroke – Who’s Afraid Of Detroit
Claude Vonstroke is someone we have looked unto for a long time, his music really captivates people. WAOD is a killer timeless track, the slight downtempo vibe is often a welcome change at this point of an after party We always like to play a song or two from the big man as we like to think he does with our music too.
08. Marco V – Red Blue Purple
Another little trip down memory lane. This track is not something we would play in our sets, but my god, was it good when we were the clubbers on the dance floor.
09. Ramiro Lopez – Redone
At a GAIST “Back To Mine” the staple has to be Techno, and what a techno track Ramiro has created here! It has featured in our sets, on our radio show and pretty much everywhere else we can get away with playing it!
10. Funkagenda & Mark Knight – Man With The Red Face
Simply a classic, this is totally the best most euphoric way to end one of our after parties. It’s a musical journey all by itself. This guarantees a full dance floor, even when the dance floor is the hotel bed, sofa or even on some occasions wardrobe (but that’s another story)
