01. Patrice Baumel – Birth (Trouw)
I always liked Patrice music. The energy of this track is really what I like a lot! Great for opening my sets.

02. Circulation– Green (first circulation release 1998)
One of my first vinyls and I still love it. Like the growing of the track and overall atmosphere.

03. Matthias Meyer – Miss Appre Gate (Liebe Detail)
Just classic, love the progression and background sounds. Simple rhythm also works for me here.

04. Layo & Buschwacka – Love Story (XL Recordings)
One of those tracks I fell in love for the first time like many other djs/producers. Timeless!

05. Tokyo Black Star – Blake Dancer (Dixon Edit) (Innervisions)
Always been  a huge fan of Dixon’s sound and this edit sums it up for me. Mesmerising!

06. Zoo Brazil – Heart’s Legend feat. Philip (Sasse Remix)
Just lovely done remix of Zoo Brazil’s original. Very dreamy and happy!

07. Jimpster – English Rose (Freerange)
This track and whole release is a diamond of underground deep house music. Just came out but will be classic for a long time! That atmosphere!

Rhythm, bassline and growing pattern, Always play!

09. Detroit Swindle – The Wrap Around (Saints & Sonnets)
Another classic, really groovy!

Love sound of Ellen, and this track is something special for me.

Cubik & Checo Zac – Horizons (inc. Arco & Ian Metty mixes) (Deepwave Records)
Ian Metty’s three year old and perfectly formed Deepwave label is back for release number fourteen, and it is a fine collaborative affair that sees Cubik & Checo Zac hook up for one original, whilst Metty and Arco both remix. Cubik & Checo Zac is a Prague based pair that have been cooking up club beats since the late nineties. They are also well travelled DJs and have experience of playing live, too. All these experiences feed into their music as do cues from the likes of Todd Terry and Underworld. Up first is the original version of ‘Horizons.’ It is a deep, spacious track with smeared synths and incidental chords that lend the track a woozy, intoxicating feeling. Musical as well as functional, it gets finished with some female vocals coos for a touch of sex appeal and the end result is truly absorbing. First to remix is Arco, an experienced DJ who’s held residences around Europe and has been releasing house funk on labels like Candy Music since 2008. Here he reworks the track into a heavier, more physical and dubbed out deep house cut. With stiff hits, icy, loose hi hats and coal-faced kicks, the track really gets you moving as it offers up trippy synths and colourful chords. Then it is to label boss Ian Metty and his brilliant final remix. In his experienced hands the original becomes a radiant, feel good bit of deep house with exquisitely soulful chords glowing bright as they shoot out from the middle of the cuddly groove. This is charming house music for classy dance floors, and no mistake.
