2015 was certainly a busy year for Kenya based DJ and producer Nurii. Having started with a top-notch debut by the name of ‘Blue Lagoon’, the industrious talent followed up with massive projects like: ‘Reasons’, ‘India’, ‘Right Back’, ‘Passion’ and his latest wonder ‘Freedom’. Aside from putting his signature on many Beatport chart entries, Nurii has also released a series of free downloads, making big waves with quality efforts like: ‘Twist’, ‘Drop That Bass’, ‘Transform’, ‘Explode’, ‘Alive’, ‘Lean On Remix’, ‘Hurricane’, ‘Aurora’, ‘Wild Life’, ‘Destiny’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Feelings’, ‘Inspire’, ‘Touchdown’ and ‘Emotions’, whilst also putting himself on the mixshow map with his growing ‘Horizon’ radio show.
Whilst Nurii is now preparing to start 2016 with a bang, we’ve had the pleasure to sit down with him and go through his all-time favourite tunes. Here are Nurii’s top 10 tracks:
10. Spaceman – Hardwell ft. Mitch Crown
This is one of the first EDM songs I heard and I fell in love with the drop. I kept playing it on repeat.
9. Secrets – Tiësto & KSHMR feat. VASSY
This song is just beautiful!
8. Don’t You Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia
One of my all time favourites, makes me happy when I’m sad.
7. Mammoth – Dimitri Vegas, MOGUAI & Like Mike
This is when I started having EDM tracks on my playlist and it was the best I heard in 2013.
6. Tsunami – DVBBS & Borgeous
One of the best drops there is in Dance music to date!
5. Jammu – KSHMR
This is probably KSHMR’s best song so far. Extremely well produced and I simply love listening to it!
4. Get Lucky – Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers
Amazing track, one of my happy songs!
3. Lean On – Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ
The first time I heard this track was on the radio, immediately sunk into my system.
2. Burn – KSHMR & Dallas K
KSHMR inspired me to start producing after I heard ‘Burn’!
1. Live Your Life – Headhunterz & Crystal Lake
I love this song so much; I listen to it every time I need inspiration, whether it is in life or when producing music – it’s just at the top of my list!
