Back To Mine with Pyramid

It’s all about the Night Tales

01. Supertramp – The Logical Song
Because this is legend, and this is also my youth, so I thank my dad for that.

02. Moby – Porcelain
The music I listened the most as a kid, probably like 20 times a day for at least a year.

03. King Crimson – In The Court of Crimson King
A more recent discover for me, an instant classic, so powerful…

04. Tame Impala – Feels Like We Only Go Backwards
I’m a big fan of Tame Impala, this mix between old school psych rock and lo-fi treatment is amazing.

05. Air – Les Professionnels
This track is less known but love the utlisation of the sample throughout the track.

06. Tennyson – With You
I discovered this artist through a friend when this guy had no listens and know he’s getting bigger everyday, and he deserves it !

07. Onra – L.O.V.E.
Love this mix between old school hip hop and funk / electro samples, and love the treatment too.

08. Phony PPL – End of The Night (Louis Futon Remix)
This guy is just killing it at the moment, melodic, groovy as hell and with a pretty cool and clean sound treatment.

09. Nömak – Schrodinger’s Cat
This guy is a friend and I’m always amazed how far he can go for his sound design, this track is incredible for that.

10. Chrome Sparks – Marijuana
Love Chrome Sparks, I personally prefer the use of the Idris Muhammad’s sample in this track than the Jamie XX “Loud Places”.

Pyramid – Night Tales EP (Kitsuné)
After several outstanding appearances on Kitsuné’s compilations, an EP released with his buddy Crayon, some remixes and a debut solo EP last year and many Kitsuné Club Nights, our favourite producer from Lyon is back to remind us that French electro is still alive and ready to take on the world.
This time Pyramid releases an EP composed of 4 exclusive tracks, including a more than unexpected collaboration. “Highway” starts the EP with its sweet harmonies beautifully contrasting with the strict beats driving the track. Then comes “Film Noir”, the EP’s cornerstone – also on the label’s latest compilation Kitsuné New Faces II – featuring Parisian Holy Oysters on vocals who brings a euphoria that is not far from Australia’s Jagwar Ma and Tame Impala. The EP goes on with the progressive “Omega”, a pure piece of French Touch legacy that paves the way for the Berlin-ish “Night Lights” which will leave you wanting to hear more and dance until dawn. Pyramid shows he will never be where he is expected to. Sometimes psych, sometimes club, the Frenchie’s sound keeps on evolving and earns maturity along the way. Sure thing : we will have to count on Pyramid in 2015!
