Back to Mine With Sam Paganini

Late night sessions at the best after parties on the planet

01. Pink Floyd – Shine On You Crazy Diamond
My favorite song of all time. This song include all the elements i love in Music. I first heard this Masterpiece when i was a child from a neighbor of my parents and i. Since then i still listen to it, it’s the soundtrack of my life.

02. Duran Duran – The Chauffeur
Brilliant Synths, arrangements and melody. This song still sounds fresh today, Nick Rhodes at his best.

03. Kraftwerk – The Man Machine
What can i say about Kraftwerk? If i make electronic music probably is because they decided in the 70’s to experiment with noises and waves. My Kraftwerk’s fav album.

04. Rockets – One More Mission
French Band Rockets are one of the underrated bands from the past. I always loved how they mixed together Rock and Synths with a perfect balance.
The solo in this track is Amazing.

05. Led Zeppelin – One
I was raised listening classic rock bands like Stones, Hendrix, Cream ecc so Led Zeppelin are one of my fav bands ever. I chose the first album but would be good any other album they released.

06. Ennio Morricone – The Best Of
The Maestro. Music from the motion pictures most of the time yes, but you can listen to a Morricone’s song, closing your eyes and start floating with your imagination.

07. Brian Eno – An Ending (Ascent)
Same as Morricone but in a electronic way. I love and respect the Eno career in every side.  A Genius.

08. Pierre Henry and Michel Colombier – Psyche Rock
I first heard this funny Rock/Electronic experiment on a Tv Show in the late 70’s when I was child.  It really captured my attention and made me want a Synth to recreate those noises you can listen on the song.

09. Depeche Mode – Stripped
Reminds me the school’s times, one of my fav Depeche Mode’s songs, a Great use of synths on it as in every Depeche’ songs.

10. Manuel Gottsching – E2-E4
I first heard this album in 1989 when was sampled by the Sueno Latino team. The next day i went out to order a copy. Hypnotic!

Sam Paganini – Satellite (Drumcode) out September 15th 2014
Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.
Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.
Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.
From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.
No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.
Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.
