Miami get ready! The Italian legend sets us free with d:vision’s ‘Parole Parole’

Federico welcome back to DMCWORLD…where on planet earth are you today?
“Hi everybody, I’m at home today with my family.”
What was the first piece of music you heard this morning after rolling out of bed?
“My new single ‘Parole Parole’ that is out today on Beatport and iTunes.”
Please talk us through the sound of the track…
“I made this track with my sound which is known thanks to the other productions I have made untill now.”
The track samples Anna Maria Quaini better known to us as Mina…one of the most successful Italian singers in the 60s and 70s famously banned from your country’s TV and radio in 1974 for her relationship with a married actor that did not accord with Catholic morals. How long have you been working on this track with her vocals…?
“1974 is my year of birth so I didn’t know this fact about her private life. I tried to use the parts of the vocal which were easy to remember and also for people that don’t speak Italian. It is great to see everybody sing along during my DJ sets.”
Do you know whether she has heard it?
“Yes, I forwarded it to her through his son that handles her artist rights.”
Everyone is saying that this has Miami all over it. What is more important to you – a huge Miami hit or a big Ibiza smash?
“The most important thing is to smash it worldwide!”
‘Parole Parole’ – have you ever been arrested?
“No.”
Where has been some of your best winter gigs this year?
“For sure the New Year’s event at the High Life Festival at Auckland, New Zealand and my gigs at Wall Miami where I play every two months.”
The last time you pressed rewind on a track to listen to it again because it was damned good?
“Chris Lake’s ‘Chest’.”

What are your plans for Miami WMC this month?
“I’ll be in Miami from March 19th to 26th to have some rest with my family and also to play at some gigs. I’ll meet lots of friends and colleagues from all over the world.”
An up and coming producer to watch out for in 2015?
“Luca Guerrieri, Variavision, Rhythmoholia…to name but a few.”
What festival has really got you excited later this summer?
“The High Life festival in Auckland. Well it was summer there!!”
Best ever festival experience?
“Definitely Ultra Music Festival Miami in 2013.”
An album we would be surprised to find in your collection?
“The last Madonna album.”
Where can we catch you in Ibiza this summer?
“At Blue Marlin and I’m happy about this ‘cause I’ll share the booth with Ernest & Frank – with more to be confirmed.”
Your favourite ‘spot’ to chill at in Ibiza?
“Blue Marlin during the afternoon before the party.”
What was the last GREAT studio toy you bought yourself?
“I recently bought a helicopter toy to play during breaks in the studio work. Will that do?.”
Let’s skip forward 12 months – what do you want to achieve in your life by this time 2016?
“See my label grow up and continue to make the music I love in the studio and to play during my gigs.”
