You have worked with Zedd in the past, you must be made up for his current success?

“Zedd is one of the first friends I made in the industry. His success is not only inspiring but it also gives me an immense amount of joy.”

You moved to Chicago for college, one of the greatest musical city’s the dance world has ever seen. You were into the whole electronic sound by then, the Windy City is now renowned for that! So what was it like with all that Chicago House music all around you?

Before I moved to Chicago the only type of electronic dance music I knew was fidget house. Chicago introduced me to house, deep house, progressive house, tech house, techno, and juke. All of these genres inspired me to become the producer I am today. Traveling around the Windy City exploring new clubs and new types of music are some of my fondest memories.”

Your first love though was Hip Hop. You were the cats that you were nodding your head to back in the day?

I loved Bay Area hip hop. In high school I listened to Mac Dre, Keak Da Sneak, E- 40 and Mistah Fab.”

When was the last time you dropped a Hip Hop tune in a set?

“Last weekend! I try to play a little hip hop in all of my sets.”

Miami is around the corner, what are your plans this time around…

“I’m going to be playing quite a few parties down there includin one at Juicy Beach and a party with my friend R3hab. Excited to see old friends and meet new people!”

Away from dance music, who are some of the artists you are into at the moment?

Portugal. The Man, The Black Keys, Lana Del Rey, and Little Dragon…”

You took the name Lucky Date because of something your brother said, claiming the numbers 7 and 11 were lucky. So, the obvious question…when you go to a casino what numbers do you play at Roulette?

I’m actually a pretty horrible roulette player so I usually bet on the numbers my manager bets on haha.”

Not many people know this, but Jordan Atkins-Loria is really good at…

“Gardening is a huge passion of mine!”

What is coming out next from you studio wise?

“I have a ton of collabs and a few originals of my own lined up which we are currently shopping to labels. Hopefully will have a handful of tracks out by Summer.”
