MHE

‘The Thrill Is Gone’. Huge new tune on d:vision – but who the fuck is he?

Interview by Dan Prince

Ah another mystery producer making his, her or their mark on the world’s dancefloors! So producer of mirrors and smoke…where in the world are you today?

“That’s assuming I’m from this world…!  I’m a bit everywhere lately, meeting a variety of people, going to different places from big stadiums to really tiny club to see what goes around.”

What was the first piece of music you heard this morning after rolling out of bed?

“Woke up to a vinyl from Le Knight Club, track is called ‘Gator’.”

Most producers who prefer to hide their identity are either doing this because they are trying a different genre of music not normally associated with them, is keeping it hidden because they have so much music out there at the moment and wanted to drawn it back a little or are simply trying to gather some hype. Which one do you fall into?

“None of these, the reason behind starting MHE is to find my own way, after some time spent around the world, I felt the need to express everything I’ve seen around the  world for years, through the music. I like to called this journey “Switch”, through this experience I really want to “Switch” my career and my life…onto an another level.”

The record that everyone is going mental about is of course ‘The Thrill Is Gone’ coming out on the mighty D:Vision. Please talk us through the sound and history of the track…

“As I said earlier, in my journey, I started experimenting the fusion of several styles in house music, I really loved to mix the blues with dance music. I liked the results so much that I thought ‘The Thrill Is Gone’ was the best way to give the people a first glimpse at my world.”

Pete Tong is all over it on Radio 1 and superstar DJ producers such as Steve Angello (“great record”), David Guetta (“very cool”) and Alesso (“sick!!”) are hammering it. Who are the producers you like seeing on the ‘support list’ when you bring out a new tune?

“It’s of course flattering to see these huge names giving such a nice feedback to a track not usually belonging to these producers’ style. I’m glad they’re open to different vibes. I love receiving feedback from others producers, but I love even more the one from the audience because they’re the one ruling the scene.”

What are the 5 big records in your box this weekend…

“METRONOMY – LOVE LETTERS (AGORIA REMIX)
