Sebjak is no stranger to the Size family. After rising to fame with his epic collaborations ‘Liceu’ and ‘Kemi’ with Marcus Schossow, Sebjak’s fan base has grown as rapidly as his discography. As a DJ, Sebjak is renowned for his ability to connect with his crowd, utilising his vast musical knowledge to indulge in an explosive journey of modern house and EDM. Back now on dancefloors everywhere with AN21 and new tune ‘Everything’ that merges both their signature styles on what is sure to be one of the standout Size releases of the year…
Dude a big welcome back to DMCWORLD…where on planet earth are you today?
“Thanks! I’m actually on my way to the US. I’m gonna be in LA for a few days chilling in the studio then I’ll be playing in Vegas on Saturday with Steve Angello!”
What was the first piece of music you heard after rolling out of bed this morning?
“Hmm the first thing I listened to today was what I did in the studio yesterday and I just asked myself what was I thinking when I produced this idea yesterday – I’ve been in the studio for nearly two days at a time lately working on my new album so sometimes towards the end my ideas go a little weird haha.”
A great way to start 2015 with a big record, this time around it’s your collab with AN21…’Everything’ out now on Size Records. Please talk us through the history and sound of the track…
“I was in the studio with Antoine for a few days before Creamfields last year and we were so hyped about it, me especially since it was my first time at the huge festival. We talked about doing something special for it…a real festival banger. We went through our computers and Antoine had this sick break and I had this weird electro drop. Two days in the studio, we switched keys, developed the melodies and mixed it. We were done. I gave it to Steve Angello just before he went on and he played it. That feeling was unreal!!!”
How do you think you two complimented each other in the studio?
“Good question. Antoine is a really good producer and always has loads of ideas he is very quick with writing good melodies and always adds really cool effects. I’m more “it has to be the perfect kick” guy. The drums have to be at the right place and the drop always have to stand out. I love working with him we really complement each other in the studio and we always have a laugh.”
‘Everything’s was supported by the likes of David Guetta, Hardwell and Steve Angello. Who are the big names you always look for to make sure they are behind your new music?
“Definitely Steve Angello, we have very similar taste in music and I’ve always respected him and his music.”
Please tell us about your new radio show Naked In The Rain…
“I was thinking about starting something regular for my fans. I asked them what they thought of the idea on FB and the response was amazing! It’s now actually developed into a presented radio show which will be syndicated globally! Super excited for the first episode to be released and for you to find out about my ‘Straight From The Lab Mix’.”
Where has been some of your best winter gigs this year?
“Mysterland in Chile and Life in Colour Bolivia. They were both just amazing, the crowds were so crazy and full of energy. Both shows were on one weekend and it’ll definitely be a weekend I’ll never forget.”
3 bucket list adventures you wanna do in your lifetime?
“Go bungee jumping.
Climb a mountain.
Camp in a rainforest in the middle of nowhere!”
The last time you pressed rewind on a track to listen to it again because it was damned good?
“Zombie Nation – ‘A Night At The Zoo’, I rewind it overtime, I can’t get enough of it!!”

What are your plans for Miami WMC this month?
“I’m super excited for Miami this year, I’ll be playing 5 HUGE shows with some of my closest friends in the business, It’ll be a crazy week… I’m especially looking forward to the X party in the Florida Room at the Delano. I’ll be playing as Sebjaxx, my darker more techy alias for the first time and I can’t wait to see what people think and it’ll be cool playing something completely different to what I normally play. OH AND MESCAL KID IS IN THE BUILDING!!!”
An up and coming producer to watch out for in 2015?
“I can’t choose between Franz Novotny and Jebu they are both guys you should keep your eyes on. Jebu remixed my track ‘We Are’ last year and I just loved how he made it his own and Franz Novotny is gonna be big soon I can tell…”
What festival has really got you excited later this summer?
“Creamfields I’m doing it this year again can’t wait for it! The Size family are a big part of my career and so I really enjoying playing with them.”
Best ever festival experience?
“When I played Summerburst festival last year in Stockholm and Gothenburg. All my family and friends were there, it was in my home country and the crowd was amazing. It was something I will never forget.”
What is on a Sebjak rider in 2015?
“At the moment it’s very boring I have to have the right CD players, mixer and booth monitors. Then I’ll just have the standard water and a few beers – I know some people can be very extravagant on their rider, maybe I should add a few things to mine haha…”
What was the last GREAT studio toy you bought yourself?
“My new sub bases are amazing but my neighbours just complain.”
And finally, what is coming out next from you studio wise?
“I’m just putting the finishing touches on the first single from my debut album which will be coming out on Ultra later this year. The whole process of an album is so exciting and really makes you push yourself as an artist. I’ve been working with some really talented producers but I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention names yet so I think I better play it safe and keep my mouth closed hehe…”
