Trade – The Grand Finale

Jon Langford from the Knuckleheadz recalls his first terrorising visit to the club

How are you feeling about this event being the FINAL one?

Excited…it’s going to be a fantastic celebration of all things Trade…Go out with a BANG!

Who is your greatest Dj hero from Trade and why?

Ahhhh.. I’m really torn between Steve Thomas, Tony De Vit and Pete Wardman….Having just played “paper scissors rock”… teve Thomas won, and I’m happy with that..Loved his music…funky…just how I like it…loved the dark elements in his tune selection and he’s a great guy

If you could invite any star to Trade for THE FINAL who would it be and why?

Tony De Vit…I think the answer is self-explanatory…It was his domain..I know he’ll be there in spirit as well as musically for sure

What is your most embarrassing Trade moment?

My first visit to Trade was a huge shock and a really eye opener for me…I ended up having to sit in the DJ box with Ian M because it got a little bit scary for me!! Hahaha

What made Trade so unique?

The music…the people…the atmosphere…the venue…the club…

All time Trade Top 3 tracks

01: ‘House Rocca’ – Knuckleheadz –

Tony De Vit played this from an acetate when I went to Trade for one of the first times…The reaction from the crowd still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

02: ‘Lets Rock’ Tony De Vit Remix – E-Trax

Incredible Remix by Tony…The energy within it sums up the feeling and atmosphere at Trade perfectly

03: ‘Forerunner’  Experts Mix – Natural Born Groovers

The original was a classic, Steve Thomas turned this in to a MONSTER with his tougher rework…hits the spot everytime and the piano stab breakdown always creates a huge response.
